Unfortunately it appears that you don’t have a great birth year for omega watches. Do you really find that watch appealing? Or are you just determined to buy a watch from that year?

Maybe it would be better to take some time and consider watches from the earlier golden age of Omega. Forget about birth year. It’s just a silly idea promoted by dealers.

if you really want to buy it, find out the reference number and the case material and do some internet research on previous sales.

Omega serial number charts date it to 1982. Sales receipt is 1984. So its date range is uncertain anyway. Unless you have Extract of Archives you cant really know the date for sure, and that service is not currently available.

850 €/£/$/carrots?

Have you managed to do any research yourself on comparable asking/sales prices?

Not sure your budget- but I think the best choice for early 1980s Birth year special watch is the Speedmaster 145.022- 78 which is cal 861 and you could find a pretty good one for less than 3000 with a bit of patience. Visit speedmaster101.com for good overview and price chart based on sales. This picture comes from a sales post from Hodinkee and is IMO way overpriced- but gives you some info to start the process, if you like it. You will be happy in the long run to have you birth watch be a special one. Most will tell you- don't buy 4 entry level watches- better to save up and get 1 good one.
