This is an excellent thread, thanks @PlainVanilla for the diligent work.

I'll try to contibute with an example of the non-mainstream Emir-of-Bahrain watches. This is a 166.020 in pink gold with a 7077 bracelet dated 65-1 (with 5 double expandable links). Case manufacturer is, as expected, Serva S.A. I've included the EoA, which is interesting, because it mentions the bracelet and the metal designation BB which apparently stands for 18k pink gold. (So I think the metal code BG mentioned in the main post could indeed stand for 9kt yellow gold, as explained in the table from the Omegamania catalogue posted by @gatorcpa in this thread).

As nobody did it yet I call DIBS!

I really like the dial and fat hour markers. It really gives this one quite a lot of presence on the wrist.

Just received this new piece. Haven't opened it so not sure if this is a 14745 or 14765.

I was attracted to the interesting dial combination with the gold dial hardware, the large markers, cross hair and lume.

I didn't realize before that most of my steel Seamasters have gold hands and markers...

Some amazing information in this thread. Here is my 166.020 with a vertically brushed, sigma dial and a flat caseback.

I just want to contemplate on this one. They stopped producing this reference in 1967 but the sigma dial appeared in 1973 (or so I think). So, what is this watch? Did I miss something?

It's hard I guess to know the exact year it was discontinued. Maybe it was discontinued in Europe, but continued a few more years for the USA, or any such combination.

Hodinkee has an exact one in their shop, probably sold a while ago, that dates to 1972 and comes with an archive extract. @Davidt has sold an identical, but the date is unknown. @Vanallard has sold a similar one dated from 1971.

Of course. I thought they only carried on production of American references beyond 1967 and didn't realise that they carried on manufacturing Swiss references for the American market. Thanks for the insight!

Hello guys ... I found something very unusual (at least for me) . A guy made a post on a local marketplace on a Seamaster de ville (quartz) with a strange dial . Can somebody tell me what is this?
Thank you in advance ✌️
