Hes doing the OP a favor. A favor. Its not like hes making money off of the video hes making about the watch or anything.

Yes, that shows the true level of this guys ethics...

I find this quite sad, and I think that the OP was clearly correct to post here asking for advice. The replies he was getting to his request to return HIS watch looked to me to be those of someone stalling for time in the hope that the OP would eventually give up and go away. The passive aggressive threat about €880 in fees was reprehensible and in fact bullying, something he now declares he will not tolerate. The YT'ber deserves to be called out for this, particularly for not realizing the stress and anxiety he was causing the OP by his thoughtless emails.
I'm afraid that we all need to learn from it and maybe reflect on the old proverb "Neither a borrower or lender be" I do sincerely hope that the OP gets his watch back.

Just heard that he is arranging for the watch to be sent back. Hopefully it happens expeditiously... Glad the OP brought this to the publics attention and that this gets resolved soon.

People, stop it, give peace a chance!

I just sent a polite message through Instagram to the person now holding the watch, and forwarded him this thread.

He should have a chance to respond, let facts be facts,
There’s no need to call people bird names.

If it`s not birds, are deer in season ? 😗

Irish. From the Irish os, "deer", Oisin means "small deer".

Man, it's so much work being a disreputable person. I'll never understand people like this. It's so much easier to just do what you said you were going to do, versus respond to all these comments just to save an hour of travel and some postage?

Sure. Here it is

Its genuinely ridiculous how someone can get so high and mighty about bullying and being heavy handed “how dare you, how dare you”, when they’ve routinely ignored or dismissed genuine pleas for a return of the item and topped it off by suggesting the only way to get it back within the set timeframe would be for the OP to be stuck with a bill which TWC likely knows they cannot afford.

This poor me behaviour after negatively impacting on someone else is pathetic.

Or worse case “ sorry man I’ve messed up. I’ve fallen off the wagon/had family issues/been busy at work/whatever and still haven’t gotten around to taking the footage of your watch. I can either send it back this week or if it’s ok, I’d love to keep it for another two months and give it the attention it deserves.

Just zero updates and to somehow think that’s ok is mind blowing.

My approach was more curious in nature and led to a somewhat civil conversation. Let’s see if he actually follows through, I sure hope so.

This sitting duck is a real turkey, and he knows his goose is cooked. He's clearly too chicken to come clean and do the right thing....

Follow-through is really all that matters at this point. Talk, civil or otherwise, is cheap until there’s tracking info (at the very least).

It’s 4am here and I’m needing sleep but I’d like to remind people that there is an expectation that you respect laws and the terms of service of this site and of others and don’t do anything regrettable that gets you in trouble. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

OP I hope he does follow through and send you your property back in a timely fashion at this point.

Civil has worked out more then not for me. No one likes to be berated publicly, just take a look at some of the previous post in the thread. Looked childish on both parties, heated arguments on public platforms rarely resolves anything. I know because I unfortunately have tried. :whipped:

It’s not often I’m treated to controversy in the watch world. What a fascinating read. I hope this nerve-wracking experience is resolved soon for the OP. He certainly didn’t deserve this treatment.
What I really don’t get is people taking offense at being called out for their own unacceptable behavior. Simply amazing. If there is a loss of reputation for the social media hack, he’ll get no sympathy from me.
Very cool to see the community coming together to support a member.

Yes, but people like this can act very irrationally when cornered. Let's hope he cools down, thinks about it, makes the right decision and returns the watch immediately to the owner without further drama. Both parties can then just walk away from it.

If shipping is indeed the only issue, then perhaps there's an OF member in that neck of the woods who'd be able pick up the watch and ship to OP? I'd trust a member of the OF community far and above this guy.

He wasn't acting rationally before he was cornered...
