Bought a watch from Argentina on ebay and the seller wants me to return it to an address in London

Apologies if this is the wrong forum but I wonder if anyone here has encountered this scenario?

I bought a watch and asked to return as not as described. Aftet a lot of wrangling the seller, who is in Argentina, wants me to return it to an address in London.

I obviously don’t want to do this as it means I wouldn’t be able to reclaim the VAT I spent when it arrived. Has anyone encountered this?

He’s also refusing to give me a returns label which makes it very difficult. I’m not sure what to do and as the return is marked as “accepted” I can’t escalate it to ebay (is there a number?)

If you bought it via eBay I would go back via them :-

As an aside I have dealt with international sellers who have local options for returns.... but do tread with great care.

If the return has been accepted, I would assume that you should follow standard eBay return policies, not the seller's instructions. That way you will be protected. If eBay gives you a way to return it (e.g. a button to click on), then I would follow that. You can also double-check by contacting eBay customer service. If the seller refuses to give you a proper address, eBay may refund you directly.

I am also a seller on eBay and i am not from UK and it happen in the past some buyer to want to return a item and i was not able to provide them a return label because i could not buy it from my country..

Had a similar issue a month ago. Got a watch that showed up damaged. Seller accepted refund but refused to pay for return shipping and refused to provide a label. Contacted eBay through the return link provided they gave the seller 5 days to respond. After that I was refunded and told to keep the item from eBay. They are extremely helpful just don’t go off being a pain when talking to them keep your cool and be polite it will work out for you.

What link though? He has accepted the return and when I hit the contact ebay links it just says you have an action pending on your return, you need to return this item.

Well he has to reimburse you for shipping... but they do occasionally make you buy your own label.

If it shows as returned to the address on the return request eBay initiates the refund.

Unfortunately I can’t find it as it has no options on my eBay link anymore as that item is closed. But did find what I was looking for by googling “contact ebay customer service” first link that popped up was what I used.
