Should watch returned from service include a warranty card?

Been a while since I went through this with Omega/SWATCH.

My gen.3 Seamaster Pro is back from service---got the little baggie of replaced parts, and a much nicer little red storage box than I've ever gotten before from them. (Usually just got a zipper pouch.) Also the card showing that it timed-out just fine and passed all the pressure tests.

But there's no service warranty card. Should there be one? Doesn't a service come with a fresh 2-year warranty? (I know I got one from Rolex when I serviced a watch with them--can't remember now how Omega handles this.)

Wondering if my AD accidentally forgot to give that to me...

EDIT: Just found this thread from a few years back. Seems like I may need to special-request the plastic card?

Can answer my own question.

Did a live chat at Omega's site, and the rep there (human not A.I., I'm 99% sure) explained that service warranties are simply "on file": there is no plastic card certifying a fresh 2-year coverage period. So I'm not missing anything. I guess if the watch has a warranty-eligible issue and I need to send it in, they'll be able to sort that using the serial. (I do have receipts, too, of course.)

Seems like a cheaping-out on Omega's part to me. No plans to sell this watch (I got it serviced because it was 8 years old when I bought it and had no service history, and I want to wear it knowing it's in good health.) But I never say never, and if I were to do so, it'd be nice to be able to provide that physical warranty with the watch. There was no mention, in my chat, of being able to request one.

I'm the US---not sure if this is managed otherwise elsewhere.

In EU I got a warranty card (2 years) last year for 2 watches which had a warranty issue:

Yup- I have had several watches serviced by Omega that had been returned without a service warranty card. One watch was last year and the other was the year before that. One of those watches needed to go back (twice) and it was never an issue as the records were on file.

I last serviced a watch in 2021. Same result as yours. I was advised when I picked up the watch that it has a 2 year warranty now but no new warranty card was included. If you request it, they will print out a detailed service slip and receipt.

While technology has it's benefits, I like to always receive tangible, physical records for everything. Sadly, everything is becoming digital in this day and age (for better or worse).

I always expect some sort of dated receipt confirming what was done, I don't need a card.

Mine just returned -- in great shape and with a fancy red travel box a la @Annapolis.

This was a warranty repair, and I was informed that because the remaining warranty exceeds 2 years, no card was included though the repair was placed on file. I am in Canada.

Very pleased with the work and speed of service. Still waiting on my Rolex...

EDIT: Mine has gone from losing up to 6spd to gaining between .2 and .4 spd across the 6 positions, with a measured PR of over 61 hours. Very pleased with the results.

Yes, I should add that so far I’m happy with the service and feel the results justified the wait. When I purchased the watch preowned it was a little beat up: really grimy inside the bracelet clasp, lots of little scratches on the case and bracelet. What I have now is to all appearances a brand new watch but all the edges still look sharp and there’s no discernible loss of material: they did a proper job refinishing the watch and cleaning it up.

And where it was formerly losing several seconds a day, it’s now gaining only 3 or 4, so within spec, and easy to love as I can just hack it for a moment anytime I want to sync it up again.

Fingers crossed for no unpleasant surprises!

Can’t speak for Omega but my Rolex did come back with a warranty card.

I thought about starting a thread like this as I recently went through all my watch boxes and documentation.

I thought the same thing when I had my 2220.80 SMP serviced in 2022. It came with the nice red travel box but the only documentation as to the service work was a hand filled out business card that showed the daily rate, etc. (like the one shown above). And it didn't even have the watch serial number on it. Just my service order number.

This is very disappointing for a brand like Omega. Their service costs are very much on par with Rolex and now serviced Rolex watches are coming with a professional looking warranty card. It's a nice piece of documentation when you pay this much for the servicing of a "luxury" watch.

The service record number will relate back to your serial number, so nothing is lost by them not giving you a fancy card.

Fancy cards are a nice pairing with multi-thousand dollar watches.

To do what with - show off the Rolex smart phone thing at your next dinner party? It looks like a solution in search of a problem to me, and just more plastic waste that will end up in landfill. But we all have different expectations I guess...

I actually don't care whether it's a plastic card or a piece of paper, but it'd be reassuring if there were some official notice of the 2-year service warranty being activated. It strikes me as odd that there isn't one, even if only some boilerplate language on the backside of that little card with the timekeeping data. I don't have any immediate plan to sell this watch (though once the anticipated no-date Seamaster drops I might, depending on a few details), but if I were to do so, I'd appreciate being able to bundle it with some kind of physical evidence of that warranty. Wouldn't expect Omega to care about such a thing, of course, and I can always provide receipts and the like. This is a small teacup to storm in. Just... I don't see why they don't do this. Pretty sure even Hamilton--another SWATCH brand--does.

Consider yourself lucky that you at least got the replaced parts, as it might be the last time 😀 But to answer the question, I got the red box and plastic card with the additional warranty without asking.

How long was the wait time on the service? My 2531.80 after 20 years of ownership went into service
September 11th. I was quoted 12 weeks. Everything still works and keeps perfect time but I felt it needed
Someone to go through and check everything out.

My Seamaster took 2 months. This was in 2022.

The plastic would actually end up in the card sleeve that has extra slots and go in the watch box.

Why does Omega make a warranty card to include with the watch when it's first sold? Or the METAS card? Or the Pictogram card? Not doing this for a service warranty seems like they are cheaping out.
