Any public apology from this watch superstar to his victims especially to the legit youtube/ig watch vloggers for creating suspicious atmosphere and animosity between watch collectors and vlogger community?

Which watch " Superstar".... Could not find a name....

All this YouTube rubbish watching I get… you probably all missed the Dennis fun years we all enjoyed here. He sent most of us watches and not the other way around.

But sending watches to someone you don’t know who is not buying the watch. This is some dumb shit I will never work out.

Yes I feel sorry for everyone that got screwed. And I wholeheartedly hope they get their watches or money back.

But don’t send shit halfway across the world to people you don’t know.
Don’t send thousands of dollars for watches to people you don’t know. There is plenty of stores that will take your money and act 10 times more professional and securely.

Have heaps of watches and have never sent anyone I didn’t know money I wasn’t prepared to loose.

Sent thousands to people I do know and would happily have over to my place for a beer and would invite me for a beer at theirs.

The Gruen got more ohhhs and ahhs here and we all know someone sells modded Seikos now from not some YouTube wanker but here….

This whole episode makes me want to say, "Hey you millennials ... get off my lawn!"

Reading the supporting comments to the Oisin live cast, I got a feel for his supporting audience. Basically, the ~55 - ~45 year old version of “man insecure in his masculinity, emulates 1980’s action movie actor, angry women don’t respond as expected.”

It's the getting angry when women don't respond as expected portion of this whole episode that has been giving me heart burn. Whatever about the watch part of the saga which looks like it's potentially being closed out. The fact still remains that this online abuse of the young French lady has not been fully addressed and dealt with.

You’re right, his video is gone from the other night. This is car crash stuff from Oisin, he’s destroying what was a very nice channel to watch with some great videos of Venice, the watches etc. I think Paul Thorpe is right in that it’s the damage being done by this incident to the watch community, the sellers, buyers etc that’s troublesome, I can see his point there. It will likely out many off from sending watches, trading watches online etc.

Excellent ! FYI: Watches are something , you wear and enjoy. Therefore you have to buy them first. But not on YouTube ; in the real World. Watching Watches on YouTube is a waste of time. Sending your real watches to a 3. Party , who has no money to buy watches on his own , to show them off on YouTube and begging the World for a few $$$ , to keep him online and give him a living , is outright stupid.

Given the limited behavior of Oisin and his supporters that I’ve seen through this saga, I would not be surprised to learn such an episode occurred - though in truth I know nothing of the actual facts of that episode aside from what’s been suggested in this thread.

There’s a 2 hour Oisin YouTube video that appears to be about this episode, which I can’t stomach to even read the video title:

Well said. As I have mentioned earlier. All parties in this fiasco IMO were motivated by self interest which has nothing to do with why most of us are in this hobby. Attempting to pump the price of a watch with Hollywood provenance (guess he was trying that when he first posted it here) or promote some watch related business etc. Then there is the You Tuber building his "brand" on smoke, booze, misogyny and mirrors. All this behavior erodes trust in the community. Part of me is happy this appears to be moving in the right direction. Part of me wishes OF had not jumped in, even though outing bad sellers is something done here for the benefit of all. 39 pages of sleeze....Somebody find us a dial to debate...pleeeeeeeeez!

Well there are still plenty of dials for the sleeze-averse to discuss in the appropriate OF subforums and threads. Exposure to sleeze isn't compulsory, is it?

Kinda like slowing down to stare at a wreck on the side of the road. One cannot look away.

This, for better or worse, is how promotion of watches works in the 2020's. If you are a small maker, word of mouth isn't enough. You can pay your way to near the top of Google rankings, or pay for good reviews from a place in India that makes reviews/feedback for all kinds of products and services they have never seen nor used. Or you can send your product to someone on YouTube with a very large following, who can bring boatloads more attention to it with one video than you will garner in years of doing those other things.

As much as some see OF as having magical promotional powers, in the case of this Gruen it simply doesn't.

I don't fault the OP at all for trying to get more attention to his watch, in order to sell it for more. If this is wrong in some people's eyes, then any and all marketing is wrong I guess, because that's what all brands do. I have no idea how he chose the channel he ended up sending it to (would like to hear that actually) but the idea in itself is not as wild and risky as some here want to believe. As I've said, this happens every...single...day...

I have not received a tracking number.
This does not surprise me. If he sent it overnight it should already be there. The man is a true flake.

If he didn’t send it after all of the social media wrath that he has received, it’s tantamount to commercial suicide for his channel. Let’s hope that it arrives.
