I think you’ve given him enough of a chance.
Six years ago or so, someone agreed to sell an expensive watch, value approx 20.000 dollars, to a famous collector on another continent. Because of the stellar reputation of the buyer, the seller sent the watch without any upfront payment.

Then the buyer, a busy business man, was seemingly too busy to make he payment or answer the seller.

That lasted for about 4 or 5 months, as I recall, until the seller outed the buyer on Chronotrader.
It only took a few hours for the buyer to resurface explain himself, and finally make the payment.

I have to give him time, thank you

Given the association with the great Bogart, if you want to go such a route, you can go way, way beyond the watch-verse in outing this creep. Plenty of mainstream media would want to run with this story. Sometimes they can achieve within hours the work of lawyers or law enforcement. I wish you well with this - I hope it helps with the anxiety to know that the might of team OF is with you.

I'm terribly sorry to hear about your Bogart watch. You've given this person ample time to return the watch and he seems to have no interest in doing so. You should not be paying customs for a watch you own. I've sent several watches overseas for service without ever having to pay customs upon their return.

I feel it was a threat by the youtuber to say I would need to pay this... and I can't afford that amount right now, he is very much in control of this situation, Unless anyone fancies a trip to Venice

Is he in Venice? I’m sure many OF members are nearby.

you should absolutely out him, but in the end please remember: as much as you may care for it, it’s just a watch.
No single object is worth damaging your health and happiness for.

Saved me the temptation to prematurely post what I've found on YouTube, a "teaser" for this Gruen review circa September 2021.

I do hope this find's Oisin well but I would hope he and his channel sponsors wish me well in recovering my watch and all the provenance.....Oisin O'Malley The Timeless Watch Channel

hahahaha

is this not the guy being showered with love for the “palm fronds” idiocy, while ignoring sharp-case-gate?

OP, very, very sorry you’ve dealt with this, and I hope we all can contribute to some swift resolution.

I am very, very glad you did this. Let people help you now. Good luck.
I will let the internet do it's thing now, I'm sorry I had to do this but it's made me ill.

For what it's worth, in the video I posted, Oisin says it was lent by a viewer, and he says that he has to send it back when asked if he owned it. Granted, this video was likely when he first received it from you. But worth noting, if nothing else.

His response and behavior is dismissive, and in my view not appropriate even for a standard watch sent in for review. But for a piece of history like this, it's wildly unacceptable. I'm a fan of his channel but he's out of line here.
