Hi all,
I need some quick info on this 9ct 265. The movement looks okay but that case back has a strange logo etc???.
I'm told there were aftermarket cases made in different countries to circumnavigate the duty paid, is this correct?
Thanks in advance!

That is correct.
Thanks Dan! Do you recognise the Omega logo? have I stuffed up or is it all good? Cheers!

It looks familiar, but I don't recall the case-maker. 9k gold is typically UK, or perhaps Australia. Incidentally, I would not call these cases "aftermarket." They are authentic/authorized Omega cases, just not made in Switzerland.

Thanks again Dan. The watch has an Australian inscription on the back so that all fits. Much appreciated!

The only Australian case-maker that comes to mind for me is Handley.

Yes, I've heard of Handley. The inscription relates to the Australia Holden car factory and is dated 1953. Thanks again.
