Had wanted to make these for a very long time, and am glad I did, and will definitely give this a try again in the future, maybe with a tweak or two.

In truth, it's definitely a good cookie, but I'm not sure it's worth quite as much praise as the Bon Appétit chef is giving it. My little guy is probably not going to love this one, since the chocolate is intense, and the toffee bits I think could be doubled in a future try. Browned butter is always (always!) a good thing in cookie recipes, and it doesn't disappoint here. So the toffee is definitely lost and overpowered by the chocolate, but the browned butter batter is insanely delicious.

Used a #40 scoop and it made exactly 32 cookies.

Next time I'll cut the chocolate wafers by at least a third, and double the toffee bits and probably chop them a bit finer.

Recipe: https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/brown-butter-and-toffee-chocolate-chip-cookies

Aim to have a chocolate wafer or two on top when you scoop, otherwise the cookie looks pretty boring!

I know, I know... this is a baking thread. However, this is too good not to share, especially when local temps are soaring.

Made this exactly as described, and it's wonderful. I find it needs to be diluted a bit more (maybe 20% more water?) but we're doing that to taste, per serving. The 4-yo needs it diluted a fair bit more.

Very, very easy prep. Three ingredients. Flavor is truly excellent, and it couldn't have been easier to make. Will make it again in a larger batch, especially if other batches can also be diluted a bit, as I figure if we're going to make it, might as well make lots to share/enjoy.

Highly recommended!

A somewhat heterodox birthday cake, baked for me by Mrs. flw: a peanut butter cheesecake with a brownie crust, sour cream top layer, with chocolate ganache and Reese's to top it off. It weighs a ton. I'm not sure I'll survive this!

It's my pleasure - I have to share somehow!

We dug into it last night - the baking process required the crust to be rebaked every time she added a layer, and it was a bit hardened (but delicious). The cheesecake overall was lighter than I expected, but I couldn't finish my piece - a real sugar overload! I'll be sharing with my work colleagues this week.
