Welcome! Finally, a member from Australia! 😀
I think I read somewhere that all the wildlife in Australia want to kill you. Wonder if that's true?

Without new members there won't be new opportunities to harass.

Like the old west saying..."sometimes ya gotta prop 'em up so ya can shoot 'em down" 😁

DO check out this thread if you are serious about gaining knowledge and picking the best watch.

https://omegaforums.net/threads/learn-how-to-fish.52603/

To the non collector who is simply looking for their next watch, spotting a redial, even one with serious flaws, is not even a consideration.

I am still learning also.

Consider this. Yes, your eyes will play tricks on you. I failed this one too. Learn before you buy.
If one has dyslexia like myself, this will read as you should anyway!

Wait, I thought you were against the harassment? 🤨

Fixed:
Fred, “Champion of the Wayward Watch Newbie, Watch Slinger Extraordinaire, Defender of Men, Hotshot Gunslinger, Slayer of the Unsuspecting”.

you gotta read more carefully. I'm against harassing newbies. Once they are established is a different story. Established members like gbesq are fair game 😁

Fred, you need to teach @DaveK how to harass without feeling guilty.

If you read complete or part phrases at a time this will always fool you -- and you will be a lousy proof-reader. Professional proof-readers will often read backwards from the end to the beginning but the method I like ('cos I speed-read) is to have a text to speech program read it out loud. Bypasses the normal visual brain process and mistakes kile these really stand out.

I’d also like to apologize for launching all those spy balloons, I understand they have caused people some concern 😬

Mistakes KILE these. I KILE it! I hope this was a test and that I am not making fun of @cej2007 and his condition.
Great tips though. Thank you. I proof read large documents for my boss before I retired. These tips would have helped. The documents were decisions on police misconduct complaints. It was amazing to read about some of the dumb things that cops did.

It was originally due to fingers getting out of sync but I did spot it and decided it would be fun to leave it in and see how long before anyone noticed.

Oh My God let's create a special safe room for all established members to recover from such trauma.

I was always told to have a safe word...

There is some pretty cool speed-reading software out there that converts text to take advantage of tricking your brain. This is one I tried although I didn't stick with it for various reasons. https://bionic-reading.com/

Ahhh thread drift.

No worries. I know I have to reread things a few times that I have written to not make mistakes. Doesn’t always work. Same goes for reading. No offense taken but that is very considerate of you. Thank you for that.

HI - Just joined the forum. Introducing myself - 40 something watch fan / repair hobbyist from Scotland but now living in Australia. Came to hear about this forum after buying a vintage Omega 166.0170 from one of the members. Interested in vintage watches mainly and prefer mechanical to quartz movements. Lots to learn on the forum and looks like a great place to be notwithstanding the usual personalities, and egos seen everywhere on the internet. Hello everyone.
I take offense to this!

I have an ego that some might say is problematic.
