It’s a bit more than that . The dial has turned but the movement still in place . That probably means both dial feet are broken.

Now that you mentioned it, the bezel is aftermarket too, bummer, from the first photo angle I thought it was a seized day/date

I wonder what this is, it's significantly larger than a C-Case, has a larger dial on it

Auction description says 35mm, so size not an issue.
Observatory has brickwork - which generally isn't correct for a gold C case -and no hallmarks on rear of lugs.
(also the shape of the observatory dome is incorrect and the coping and corbeling arrangement are flights of fancy)
Therefore, likely a locally made case.

case missing its bezel, making the dial look large.

However, the dial has a pair of straight Ms and the font is very heavily serifed, that plus the shape of the Ns and the length of the indices makes me think a redial.

This kind of 'brutalist' dial more usually found in late .004s, .010s & .018s - don't recall seeing one in a C case.

SS case brickwork observatory medallion for reference (image purloined from an old OF thread)

Hallo friends,
I attach back photos of the four Omega C-shape versions:
- Omega 168.009, cal 564
- Omega 168.027, cal 564
- Omega 168.019, cal 751
- Omega 168.029, cal 751
The observatory and the gold marks are clearly visible.
Greetings Konrad

Those later C-shape Omega 168.057 with cal 1021 movements have a slightly different case and back:

And not to forget, the lady's version Omega 568.011:

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing, interesting restoration on the last 168.029? Logo looks sandblasted, never seen it done before, some selective masking and polishing the stars and the borders etc. will probably fully restore it

Thanks kaplan, I did not see it before. But now I know, why it was so cheap, though coming from a jeweller.

Just wanted to share my Connies, I've shared some photos before. Just wanted to share it with new shots 😀.
I lost my password for my original username here back in early 2022 and was not able to recover it anymore

and oh, I have an IG for watch photography, not a professional but just a hobby. Just in case you find it interesting.

This is how a stripped GC case looks, the watch was probably already in bad shape and abused I guess, but overlooking the rust spots, I think it's a pretty good next future step for these watches when the gold is worn

How very Rolex.....

A bit like a reverse 168.008.

Sometimes the white gold bezel on the SS version tarnishes to a yellowish gold colour, giving a similar look, although with silver hands/indices. I like that look!

It definitely hits that "bicolor" look. Add a stainless-steel-and-gold bracelet, and the watch will look a) 100% intentional and b) 100% a 1980s watch. Makes for an interesting - and unexpected - C-Case Constellation look.

Cheers for a look into a Constellation that never was, but could have been.

On the suggestion of @Bill Sohne how about we have a thread on these under appreciated, Gerald Genta designed chronometers?

I’ll kick things off!

I picked up this 168.029 with a cal. 751 inside, out of an auction last year, took it to STS for a service, and some links, wore it a handful of times, and then needed funds to pay for boring things, so off it went to live with @Tiger8888.

I kinda regretted this, but nerds must.

This week I picked up this 168.017 from a couple of fuzzy eBay pictures.

I called in to see Tony at STS today, and am pleased to report that it contained a dirty, if untouched cal. 564.

It’s booked in for a full service, and gentle case refinish to bring it back to tip-top shape.

So those are mine (for now) - let’s see what you’ve got ladies and gents!

The 168.029 is spectacular 😁 In the market for one now — so fun researching and learning!

O Ontime
Thrift store- $4.

I've followed enough thrifting subreddits to know that if there is no receipt, you can't count it towards achivements 😀

Lol. I do not have the receipt. Wish I did. Actually I paid $8. for the bag of watches this came in. The other $4. was for the Seamaster Deville that was also in the same bag. 👍 Crazy
