I can count 10+ small flakes, but 100% an original dial

Yes, sometimes very professionally refinished, and around 25% of the watches in the market are refinished, ones from Japan are usually hard to tell

There could be a tell but I didn't study edges closely, maybe the 3 edges need to meet at the lugs - I doubt it though, since these are assumably hand refinished as well out of the case factory?
Thanks, that was the tell for me, on my C case the angles align at the corners, if it is re done its a a really good job, and I wouldn't have a problem wearing it, I quiet like the like new look (I wear a 70's Seiko that has been refinished), but I would want to be absolutely sure that it was all original before paying the premium that is being sought on this one.

It's a trend to let ChatGPT write marketing material these days, but I just quickread and took away the expensive service, new bracelet, nice condition - didn't irk me

That parts box should be nearly $100+ too

Edit: As I do this a lot myself, I assume he actually had a bad experience with Omega, and selling the watch to just forget about it, I care a lot about associations as my brain works that way, and once you get a negative association, it's best to let the object go and move on

ChatGPT, that would explain all the superfluous superlatives.

Agree, does look like an ok deal.

Is the seller an estate agent? The write up of this watch is vomit inducing 馃ぎ

Yea definitely reads like chatGPT. I also found the description over the top and terrible. But at least it doesn鈥檛 mention Gerald Genta. That鈥檚 my c-case description peeve.

its interesting to see that omega use those cases now when you get a service, i agree, the service and the bracelet alone would be getting pretty close to that asking price, honestly if his photos werent complete arse (and I had the funds on hand) I would consider this one, crappy chatGPT description and all

Recently back from service. Replaced the rotor axle and bushing, mainspring, and case back gasket. Added two links to the bracelet (sourced form here) and now ready to wear.

Now to hunt for a gray dial...

I鈥檓 new to c case Connie鈥檚, but have fallen down a serious rabbit hole! Is that a white dial or just the light?

Yeah, one of the cleanest and I think on this later models they might鈥檝e used a more resistant process as well, earlier ones tend to bubble pretty regularly but don鈥檛 recall bubbling on these models

I think it鈥檚 a silver sunburst, but it often appears as white. I鈥檓 on travel at the moment and have been wearing it all week.

You guys have really inspired me! I think im decided on a 168.017, Closer on chrono24 has a few of interest.

My question I was hoping someone may be able to help with is, how difficult is it to source links for brick bracelets for that reference?

Easier if you look for a 1040 in rough shape without endlinks, to buy just for the extra links

Closer鈥檚 watches are always nice, but there鈥檚 a hidden hierarchy - and he gets watches that has at least one issue, for a while dynamics shifted and he was getting flawless watches during pandemy

I鈥檇 suggest going for a flawless dial and maybe small case issues, you get the case scuffed anyway

I found he鈥檚 prompt at offering a refund if you find a problem with it.
