Came across this 18K C-Cased Constellation on eBay. I don't know anything about the C-Cased Constellations, so posting this is not any way an endorsement of condition or quality. I just figured someone here might be interested or know more and could share.

Listing states that it will come with box and papers as well.

Movement shot for anyone who is curious:

And I have no affiliation what so ever with the seller or listing, came across it when I was researching 18K Seamaster 166.032's and figured someone here may appreciate it.

Probably most unique part of the watch, experienced members know about different case manufacturers of different countries

Just interesting that they didn't etch the model number, in the endless world of C-Case's, I guess different gold cases are another aspect to collect, I recall some unique ones in UK but didn't pay too much attention, they look the same outside

Very nice! Movement would need a cleanup/service, but the case looks clean. The box is not correct though, it should have "Constellation" printed on it.

Lovely, but not cheap!

What’s the weight of the gold in the bracelet I wonder? Or is it the rarity of the bracelet itself that adds to the value? Or is it overpriced?

The demand is pretty much 0 for YG C-Case’s right now, slightly above or at gold value, sometimes below gold value is where you buy watches at

It’s $1800 for just heads and $5500 for a complete set, not net. - it’s what you pay eBay, auctioners etc. so owners get 20% less

It’s a good time to be collecting

I attached 2 photos for the bracelet, before/after cleaning, I thought I’d have cleaned a gram away but I didn’t 😀

Agreed x2 - I don't think they would get the BIN they are asking if they did their (presumably) regular auction thing.

Today's gold price is about $57 per gram. 106g of 18K gold is 79.5g of solid gold, so there's about $4,500 of gold alone in your watch, kaplan! In the head alone it's 32g, = 24g solid gold, = $1,368.

I reckon that mesh bracelet will weigh quite a bit less than your solid link bracelet though - maybe about $3000 - $3500 of gold in that ebay watch..?

Perhaps a fair price for a solid gold watch would be the value of the same model of stainless steel watch in similar condition, plus the value of the gold?

I am really digging this gold connies with this bracelet look, i just dont think can do justice wearing it, i mean I just don't think gold things specially all gold looks good on me, or at least I don't think it does. In the meantime, I bought another connie C case, wlll post pictures next

I foolishly (or maybe not) bought another C case connie in linen dial, I just can't resist the bracelet, and buying a bracelet alone cost 30% or more of the entire watch on ebay. So when I saw this clean dial I pulled the trigger. Gasket looks like it needs replacement.

Now I am stuck with not one, but two 168.019 connies, still no fluted bezel which I would prefer but could not get hold of.
I need to stop browsing the net.

Honestly they are both perfect, the new one just has micro pits on the bezel, a bit larger and it would be an issue, I'm currently in the process of looking for a solution for 2 such watches, going to get them laser welded, but at the same time I'm debating whether to keep them original but rust pitted

fyi, If you want a fluted bezel I'm open for trades

how much does a laser weld cost? I am thinking if I should keep it unpolished , untouched, and without any changes or have it repaired or retouched a bit as I have some issues with the watchmaker overdoing it rather than doing it so subtly that it wont look like it was polished and still retain the sharpness on the edges.

I'll think about the trade, which fluted bezels are you open for trades?

It always starts with one, and then you decide you want one more, and then you start looking for varieties... I told myself I was done after my first c-case too...

I STILL tell myself that I'm done... but I also still want a hummer... and one of those grey dials...

I mainly have steel linen 168.029's and gold coated linen 168.029's and an extreme amount of Omega buckles and bracelets for trade, I was just hoarding 168.029's at one point, but decided to only keep one of each example

The quote I got is $50 for Uppercase and $35 for Caseback, I'm pretty sure they quoted high when they saw an Omega case as other people send <$150 MSRP watches to them and there's no way they pay this much

At one point I was thinking of buying a second hand laser welding machine for $1000 to start building experience myself, but I really want to avoid rotary tools and only have 5-6 cases at the moment with issues - really hope these guys are able to restore the finish faithfully

Recently bought a watch from Fellows, paid 2X market values, and it came with a slightly polished case that wasn't in the descriptions and wasn't noticeable in the photos 🙁 Luckily it retains the lines, and that's why I didn't notice it

Each problematic case is like a small cut that doesn't heal

Constellations with calibre 751 and case BA are more collectionable than rolex 1803.

I love these c-cases, but I’m not sure I’d agree with that. The 1803 comes in plenty of dial variants and people used to collect them like crazy similar to the way some now collect C-cases.

Do that many people collect C-cases, I still feel like they are somewhat slept on.

At least they have retained a degree of affordability.
though certain combinations such as the linen/silky guilloche in silver with the WG bezel or the grey dials are exceptions.

I had no idea how attractive, reliable and comfortable they were until I bought and wore one.

I’m now a convert, as a wearer rather than as ‘ a collector', and also enjoying collecting and wearing other makers C-cases.

This is my most recent arrival (£85 including postage and, apparently, serviced).

That said, Omega C-cased watches; Connies, Cosmics and Seamasters, do seem to be going up in price.

I'll be honest, I researched what a hummer is, and continue to be clueless what a hummer is, what is a hummer?

A tuning fork model, runs at 300Hz so the sweep second is smooth. Nicknamed a hummer since the 300Hz tuning fork can literally be heard humming.

A cool, if not slightly delicate bit of technology first pioneered by Bulova if i remember correctly.
