I don't fly but I am passionate about pilot watches. I have a few that I want to show you:
TOT (Time On Target) sold at Pilots of French Aéronautique Navale, limited series of 300 pcs.
I always thought “time on target” was for artillery not aviation.
Time on target (TOT) is the military co-ordination of artillery fire by many weapons so that all the munitions arrive at the target at roughly the same time. The military standard for coordinating a time-on-target strike is plus or minus three seconds from the prescribed time of impact.

That was complete marketing rubbish.

...well then, this takes marketing rubbish to an entirely different level...

Gerard is a tool of biblical proportions so he is the right man for this.

I've seen some memorable (or not) "about us" and "our story" blurbs on watch sites, but this one is epic bullshit on another level.

"The first meeting of the team took place around a small oak table, in the armory of the GIGN barracks with smells of gun powder and oil filling the room."

Gunpowder?

fυck me! When was this meeting? 18 fkn 80?

If you are not happy with this, write directly to the manufacturer. I have nothing to do with it. I'm only an owner

I think the oldest for me was a Northwest Orient Lockheed L-1011, in the early 1970’s.

I think it is a lot of hype, to try and separate their brand from the others, but that’s not unusual. Do you really think anyone at NASA or anywhere else really needed a circular slide rule on their watch? So they put a small circular slide rule on a watch dial. Not exactly ground breaking. It’s been done before and continues to be done now. So what. It’s just marketing. Which by its nature is 95% or more pure B.S. Nothing more nothing less.

The opener of this thread said :
"I'm hoping to start a thread here for aviation enthusiasts and pilots who also happen to be into watches (like me) 😀
A place to shoot the breeze on all things aviation related and to share stories and pics. To me, the world of aviation and watches have always been inextricably linked so I thought it fitting to create a thread which brings these two areas of interest together.",
so I thought I'd post my aviation related watches, I didn't expect to arouse so much displeasure by someone.
I still have a few to show, but I won't to avoid further controversy from those who deem these watches useless.
If you feel it is appropriate I can withdraw all my posts from this thread.

Vickers Viscount, BAC/Hunting 1-11, Antonov AN2, Douglas DC8, Lockheed L-1011, Schleicher ASK 13, Schweizer SGS 2-33, Sud Aviation Caravelle, must have been on a Boeing 707 a few times, and 727/37/47 lots.

That's what I can remember of 1940-60s, designs, normally if I cannot see directly through the windscreen I don't take much notice.

Sorry you feel that way. Everyone is welcome here in this space so feel free to continue sharing and contributing. Like any forum, I guess one has to be prepared to take the good with the bad in terms of feedback. And as we're primarily a watch forum, there will no doubt be some robust discussion and strong opinions on anything watch related.

I didn't malign your watches, in fact they're quite interesting and I appreciate your input to the forum.

My response was made after reading the blurb on the website.
Why some brands have to have an elaborate "story" behind their product is lost on me.

Every time I see examples like that, I'm reminded of this:

Ok. I continue with one of which there is no marketing. With this I want to pay tribute to all nurses of the British Air Force (RAF) who have served during WWII.

As doctorEvil mentions, this is an Aerosexual safe space so just roll with it.

The most interesting thing I see is the date on the back.
September 18th (or 19th) 1940 was only just after the peak of the Battle of Britain.
What stories the owner could probably tell.
