This is apparently the actual watch that BG Jimmy Doolittle wore during the raid on Tokyo. Any idea of the reference number?

The watch looks a bit wrong to my untrained eye but it might be the photo/light ….
These links might help. Not convinced Doolittle used an hour angle watch from the available photos either.

I'll get the ball rolling:

Ansett Australia.
Early 1990s. Melbourne, Australia to Derby (north west Australia) via Darwin.

As an Aussie I have the usual collection (ANA, Ansett, TAA, Compass, Air Pacific, others I can't remember MMA?).

I also flew from Darwin to Adelaide as very very young person in about 1949/1950, don't know what airline it was, aircraft was an ex-RAAF Anson.

The jewel in my crown though, is Guinea Airways. As a young kid I often travelled between Whyalla and Adelaide on one of their DC3s.

(this photo showing re-ruelling at "Whyalla International Airport" 😁).

Northwest Orient, TWA, Eastern Airlines. Although I hear EAL is back in a very limited capacity.

As a Brit: how about BEA, BOAC, British Caledonian, British Midland, CityJet, Love Air, Laker, Monarch before we get to Varig, PanAm, TWA, Alitalia, Sabena etc

I don't fly but I am passionate about pilot watches. I have a few that I want to show you:
TOT (Time On Target) sold at Pilots of French Aéronautique Navale, limited series of 300 pcs.

Really? I'd have thought that it was still operating 😁
On a similar note, some Aussies might remember Wallaby Airlines flying out of Vung Tau, South Vietnam.

Aren't there still a few DC3's active in Australia?

Wallaby Airlines are still in operation 😉

Probably only about four or five airworthy and flying. A few on display at air museums and some in private hands though.

Ah, yes. RAAF 35Sqn still use the Wallaby call sign 😀

An old Air Force buddy also gave me a kit of the C27J Spartan with 35Sqn markings a few years ago. It was my Covid-19 lockdown project...

My bad, as the kids say.
Ex FAA and shouldn't really be pushing this petty and outdated RAF bashing banter....old habits die hard.😉
Ever grateful, though, for them ferrying us on numerous occasions, VC10 between Brize and Dulles....a brilliant service!
