Fun fact: a yoga student of my wife's stopped attending her classes when she found out my wife did not have the same far-left beliefs. My wife did not even engage in any discussions with her. Best part is that lady is a reporter for major newspaper known for it's slant.
But, I bet your wife wasn’t running around bragging about the benefits of Capitalism either too.

Correct. My wife hates political discussions. And she grew up in another country so she does not see things the same way as many who were born here in the 1980s/ 1990s.

Living on the edge of DC has been quite interesting the last decade or so... The first 40+ years were no issue.
Living near DC can be very interesting, and quite disturbing (politically, and socially) at times as well.

Very true, but if they expect US to make them insanely wealthy you’d think they’d take that into account before alienating half of their money? Well, I guess the smart ones do. He’s still a great actor, can’t take that away.

I don't believe he is hurting for money mate...so I'm guessing he doesn't care much what you think of him.

Well, if Christian Bale can inspire such a reaction for stating the fact that Cheney was a complete warmongering dickhead, I guess you can add me to the blacklist too.

I guess that makes two of us then.

There is a monthly gathering of Cobra kit cars a couple miles from my house. I stumbled across it a few years ago. Seeing a dozen or so of these together definitely makes one think how nice it would be to own one.
Wow, I would love to see a group of Cobras. Check out ERA replicas. Supposed to be one of the best kit cobras you can get.

Saw the movie. It’s only 75% accurate. If your looking for a good book pick up “Go Like Hell” is incredibly compelling and gives more information than the movie.
Maybe the watch we should be talking about is this one. 1969 Heuer Carrera.

Here’s one for you all-
My Dad and I were always searching for barn find Shelby Mustangs. He passed away last week. On the day Dad was laid to rest I went to my friends vintage race shop to clear my head after the funeral. As I was pulling in my friend told me to to go next door. In front of me was a 1967 Shelby GT500 with a dealer installed 427 side oiler. The car had not seen the light of day since 1974 and was pulled out of a barn that day. The irony is the car was found on a obscure farm within 5 miles where my Dad grew up in the country. Dads spirit was there that day.

I really enjoyed this movie because much of the driving footage was from the driver's perspective.
I'd also highly recommend LeMans with Steve McQueen from 1971. They filmed a lot of the race sequence footage during the actual race with cameras strapped onto actual race cars. Script leaves a lot to be desired, but very realistic racing sights and sounds. And you can watch for the Heuer Monaco on the wrist.

One of the best racing movies ever made! Steve McQueen and James Garner classic.

James Garner was actually in Grand Prix, but I haven't seen that one yet somehow.

For anyone interested in Ford v Ferrari filming, the Feb 2020 issue of Motor Trend has a great article. It's the issue with the Tesla "Pickup" on the cover. That truck deserves its own thread.

Bullitt is a masterpiece by itself. One of the best car chase scenes ever by McQueen.

Actors are entitled to their opinion just as much as doctors, lawyers, waiters, construction workers, etc etc. It’s a job like any other, and doesn’t mean they aren’t humans allowed to have opinions. Yes, they have a forum for their opinions, and some of them use it. Sometimes in an inappropriate way. Just like you’re entitled to your opinion, but maybe not in an inappropriate way on a watch forum...
As a first step to building a more amicable 2020, maybe we can try and bridge the chasm that has opened up in our society. Omega fans and Rolex fans _can_ both agree that Panerai is the devil. Now just sit back and let the healing begin . . .

I remember reading somewhere that McQueen wore his 5512 ar the same time on his usual right wrist. Thoroughly enjoyable film!!!

I believe when a scene was over he handed the Monaco back to the property master (Don Nunly?) and put his own favourite Sub back on.

I really enjoyed the movie. My 16 year old boy actually wanted to go with me!

I read the book prior to going. It’s a real page turner.
