It was rejected so I appealed with a description of my version of the events (curiously, there was no field in the online form to describe my version of the events in the initial claim). To my surprise, the USPS sided with me and approved the claim! Received the check today.

I was on line... and removed your check image....anyone could have cashed it with the image you posted!!!
Please dont post financial instruments here..... or lat lest remove all the numbers on the bottom of the check!!!! plus the check # on the upper right hand corner !

That's great, congrats!
I have had good experiences with USPS insurance. I have only had to file two claims in many years of using USPS and they were both approved with checks sent within a week.
