Goldsmiths North Uk stopped taking orders also Frazer Hart... on steel sports. Been on the list for sky dweller and sea dweller bugger all and close to top of list as well which is a gutter! Goldsmiths they had little or no sports stock had 1 Steel Submariner in 4 months since I last went in. I just do not see Rolex end game 🙁 folk just want to buy stuff and get nothing which just makes folk want them even more and more🙄

I thought they hated pre-owned market this is just helping the pre-owned folk putting steel Subs Dates for £8000 plus 🤨

Dropped into the Sydney Airport store yesterday, similar story but their display cabinets seemed half empty... Franky it looked odd. Fortunately the Omega store had more to offer!

Hmm seems like Asia is not the only region like that then. The ADs here also usually have no stock for sports models, except for maybe white gold GMT Pepsi which is at a ridiculous price anyway. So grey for me as they are also usually cheaper than the ADs here anyway.

Was on a watch fair today (mostly professional sellers exchange): Believe me, there are a loooooooot Rolex ss sports models outside in the grey market (think one guy had like 10 Daytonas). Prices slightly above list but not much and there is room to negotiate. You could get a decent (shortly used) GMT Batman for 8k or slightly below.

What planet are you on??? If they are new ceramic steel Daytona's, you would get £4000 above retail anywhere....

sorry, I was not really exact. List price or similar to list price for mint/new Batman (and probably Hulk). I did not ask for the price of the Daytonas.

Yesssssss! got to the AD first and grabbed the BLNR/batman It just arrived 45 minutes prior. Never thought I would get the text, since I had not bought anything from them prior. I just happened to respond first. Sure I was way down.

Sorry, might have missed this somewhere. Been reading here and the Rolex forum.

I’m getting ready to pick up a polar Explorer II. The AD in Indianapolis has an Explorer I and 2 Explorer IIs (1 white and 1 black) on the shelf. No SS Subs or SS Daytonas setting out though.

Are the Explorer lines considered part of this SS sport shortage?

Here’s a hair brained theory. The 42mm Explorer II has been on the market for 7 years. Everest is just releasing a 42mm strap this year at Basel (per their IG announcement).

Could be that they were waiting for enough 42mm watches to be in customer hands to justify tooling a 42mm strap. Oooor, they have an inside line that Rolex is also rolling out more 42mm watches this year? Hence running out of 40mm sport models?

I’ve seen Explorers in most of the dealers cases the last month or two. It seems like a shipment of BLNRs hit last week. Not enough to have extra to display though. No sign of Hulks anywhere.

Great choice, hulk looks much better on the wrist and good investment if you got it at rrp!

Just in a Rolex Boutique at Traditional Jewelers in Newport Beach. Looks like a wasteland. No watches at all. Cases full of empty spots. Some odd balls though. A gold Daytona non ceramic, 2 green glass milgauss, and a ceramic Pepsi GMT.

I seriously doubt Rolex would give an "inside line" to anybody. They don't have the need or inclination to help Everest sell straps, especially since the watch was engineered for the bracelet that came with it. There aren't any suppliers that can sneak cases out for aftermarket companies, like the electronics makers, either. That said, your idea they are making more 42mm cases could be quite true. We shall know in a few days.
