I've been on the list for both a Daytona and the new Pepsi for a while. Not buying anything until one of these opens for me and some of my collector/wearer friends have said the same about a particular Rolex they are waiting for. At 10/15K one new watch per year is all many guys can realistically do.

If you want those, then one new watch a lifetime is more realistic at the current lead times

Has anyone noticed that the DJ now appears to be the watch everyone is wandering about in big cities now? Used to be the sub, but I'm seeing more and more DJs.

IMHO this just devalues the brand as a new army of sheep suks up the latest marketing. Such a shame there is no real choice anymore....Not to mention the smarmyness of UK ADs has gone up a notch since the SS sports draught appears never ending.

Situation is the same in Tokyo for Rolex and Tudor (GMT and 58), I swing by a couple times a month and get apologies at no stock. The fact that you could buy a Daytona at the boutique and walk 5 min away and turn it into ~12K profit also means they are super selective in selling and just hold stuff in the back.

Just got my Explorer today. Wuhuuuuu 😀 Took 4 months. The first new Rolex I have bought but probably not the last 🙄 It is very very nice. Too bad it is a gift and not for myself 🙁

It is my impression that the boutiques and AD’s in the larmer cities have waiting lists and the ones in smaller cities don’t. I could have driven across the country (Denmark is a small country) and gotten in within a couple of weeks but I would like to use the AD near me since they a great and very nice to deal with

Isn't this just because its the most available Rolex? And the one you are expected to buy if you think you're getting a daytona ?!

Really? So instead of spending £15-18k on a Daytona thats being flipped, I could take a trip to Tokyo and buy one there! Or are those prices massively inflated too?

Nowadays its buy one and get what you want thing. Last year November I gave up and bought the other watch that I want which is the moonphase speedy blue dial then the AD manager asked if I still want the gmt batman I said maybe if you got one in stock while laughing. After a week the manager called and told me your batman is ready for you! And ofcourse didn’t think twice and pick it up.

"Honey?"

"Where's the money from our tax refund?"

United States. That being said, just go to the reputable sellers here and ask them if they can access a specific piece. They probably can. @Kringkily is a very good start.

I'm in Michigan now and just in sommerset if they don't have a specific piece they can get it for me. The GMT Pepsi and Daytona excluded.
