So if Rolex wasn't as desirable and almost guaranteed money in the bank I just wonder how many would still buy one? Isn't the whole point of having something prestigious a statement of your success?? The wait isn't as long for a Seiko if you want a good watch.....

They only have a few hundred thousand DJs left after the China crackdown/slump in China sales
SS tool watches will be back soon. 😗

Apparently, even the trickle of SS sports watches are under scrutiny at present with the Daytona on hold whilst there is a review on how distribution will be addressed this year. I was also informed from the same source that availability will be better this year to try and dampen the grey market. .???? Take that with a pinch of salt as we all know someone who knows someone 😉

Been in touch with a few ADs today and seems a bit of a wait for and explorer. I could probably keep searching about and pick one up I'm sure.

However, I've decided to stick with the same AD I got my explorer 2 from. They have indicated I would get one in the near future (first part of this year) and also alluded that this would be a further stepping stone for other purchases.

At some stage I would like to acquire a sub (ideally the hulk), a batman and a milgauss z blue, so probably makes sense to stick with them for now for the sake of a few months.

Waiting list at my local AD for both!

Going to phone round a few in Scotland and see how widespread this is.

Granted it's a bit of a trip but they had a Milgauss and E1 I'm Krakow AD last week.

I seem to recall pretty much every ad I see in the uk has a Milgauss.

Is Tudor playing the same game as Rolex ? I was on the edge of buying a Tudor BB 58 so Iwent to the local AD here in England that told me the waiting list was 18 months. I couldn't even believe that.
I was told the same in June when I ordered a gmt!

That's ludicrous... I think in France you can have it faster depending on the place. However I believe delays should shorten after Baselworld ?

Have currently waited 3 months for an Explorer and have been promised/guaranteed one by March at the latest. Still no word on the Sub LV i am on waiting list for. Been on the list a year but I was expecting it.

I know but as I'm on the daytona list with the same AD I'm prepared to wait as it may favour me by the AD when a Daytona comes in....hmm we'll see!

Good luck ! I'm sure you'll have the GMT in a reasonable amount of time, not sure about the Daytona however... 🙁

In France, it's the same story for Tudor GMT and BB58. Maybe you can find one with luck but in Paris and main cities: SOLD OUT and waiting lists. It starts annoying people down here and my guess is that these same people will buy from other brands if Rolex/Tudor keeps acting like this.

Too many flippers. Can easily buy a gmt online for not much more than rrp.
Assume that as prices go up the dealers don't honour the price when you went on the waiting list?

Classic supply and demand. If Rolex increased their prices to match what the grey market is charging supply at ADs would improve.

In Hamburg at the moment. Seems like Bucherer have a BB58 in the window. No Rolex Explorer to be found neither anywhere. Grrrr 😡

I am pretty sure this is the idea already. Condition your customers to a price that is 50% higher than MSRP and then raise prices just below that. PROFIT!

Good lord, such a mixed bag of emotions on this thread. Understandable annoyance at the AD's and yet unbridled urgency as those of us who enjoy the brand clamor to ensure we stay in the light and get what we want 😀

I'm glad I snagged my Sub (albeit I wish at a lower price), but it's something my son will look at when he's my age and hopefully have a good memory of his old man.

May you all find the watch(es) that make you happy...and skip to the front of the list!
