WOW, a beautiful piece! A well balanced dial with a very good chance of being a great investment if they release a new caliber for the sub next year and stop production of the non date.......;)

Let’s hope so but if they slim the lugs I’ll be a little annoyed.

I contacted two of my regular Rolex ADs recently to inquire about getting a new DJ. And even after All my past business, and my request for a non "sorts model"... They both said they couldn't discount at all. I couldn't believe it. I thanked them, and am now waiting for a new Bond 300m to come in at my Omega AD.

They can’t afford to discount them, the Datejust is their only source of revenue!!

Most are trying to get disappointed s/s fans to buy DJ but its just not the same! I would rather buy other dress watches like Rado which i prefer compared to dj

I see everywhere the same situation, in Europe, about sportive SS Rolex: pratically nothing, and the ADs don't even take your name in the list, because it would be so long (in particular, for Daytona). :(

The only way for rolex is to buy one to get the hot one retail. :(

This is definitely a challenging situation. I got my Sub C 2 1/2 years ago for 20% off brand new from a trusted seller. Now I am seeing them go for over list price. I wonder how long it will take for things to calm down on the Rolex sport watches?

Hint #1: When Rolex wants it to.
Hint #2: Probably never. (See #1)

Of course, people could just take their money elsewhere rather than walk into an AD hoping to kiss enough behind just to get on a line...

My AD said they haven't received any SS sports models. So they call and tell me a 2 tone GMT came in. No interest in this, but I went to view it, so they could see I was serious about getting a SS GMT. I walk in,there is a customer wearing a white SS Daytona. In front of him a new Pepsi, which he buys. Next thing he says " I'll pick up the Hulk next week. She comes over to me with a Root beer, A Polar Explorer and a used Black Explorer 2.(the price on the used model is 100$ less than the new one) Since they're not what I'm looking for I decline., another sales person whispers "you have to buy something to get what you really want". I got a great used Blancpain 50 fathoms from a dealer, he's happy to get my money, the heck with Rolex.

I gave up on Rolex years ago. Pricing, availability and smarmy dealers are a complete turnoff. Rolex is probably the most aspirational brand on the planet. Average Joe's are the losers. I've moved on. But Rolex production and availability is capitalism in action.

Recently been taking a hankering for an explorer 1 or milgauss. Phoned my local AD and was told at least 6/12 wait.

Looks like the madness spreading to even some of the less desirable models.

Waiting list at my local AD for both!

Going to phone round a few in Scotland and see how widespread this is.

We are all waiting for this to change. Twice I've been to Vegas and went through all the boutiques with no luck. Nothing in Texas either.

Is Tudor playing the same game as Rolex ? I was on the edge of buying a Tudor BB 58 so Iwent to the local AD here in England that told me the waiting list was 18 months. I couldn't even believe that.
