Not a vintage yet, but Omega did this DeVille "Byzantium", with it's mixed numerals, years ago. I really like it, although I usually wear it only in more formally social occasions. I've never saw another one like this in other wrists nearby.

Some very nice watches there. I've had a couple of non Omega tanks but sold them...Am I right in saying that Tank style watches are a bit notorious for letting in accidental moisture compared to standard round ones..the 2 piece case and lack of gasket? Could this affect their desirability?

Looks like a CK920. Here in a 1935 brochure :

Mine says hello :

Unfortunately, I think the dial on yours was redone. The font doesn't match what I would expect on a T17.

Yours is very nice....well idk if its a redial...thx for the tip tho. The dial has some real issues...even a little dent....i personally dont think it has been redone...because i bought it from a good friend which does some well respected work with omegas...but I'm really no expert...i know more about th 50s and 60s seamasters and constellations...so thanks for the tip...i'll look into it a bit more

Well, in addidtion to the logo and font, have a look at 3 : there is a little triangular cut. This is used when repainting a dial to center the printing.

Forgive my ignorance, but I’ve always believed that the triangle allows for the face to be lifted from the dial?

Hi All,

Trying to get more info on a 161.014 watch, I can’t find an example to match the item I’m looking at on an auction. It’s stamped 161.014 but has caliber 670 not 671 so it’s not lining up with the omega reference. Also I’m having a hard time finding a watch with the same Roman numerals, the 111.024 seems similar...

Any thoughts on this watch?

The watch is a redial so you won’t find another with Roman Numerals.

Tip : Pay attention to the Omega Logo on the dial. It’s from the wrong period of when the watch was made.

Ref. 153.029 with a small but reliable cal. 762.

Beautiful watch!
When I see Yours Ouss…
Wonder if this caliber is correct, also in non gold coated, in a 18k - 153029…?!

I mistyped the Caliber name thanks for pointing that out! It's Cal 672 and yes i believe it's correct to the watch. This reference comes in both Solid gold and stainless steel. The latter, like mine, bears the "Centrale Boites" hallmark which makes sense i guess. 😀
