in all the years we have been playing with watches i have actually never heard of anyone saying this model was difficult to wind. However your image certainly will help in that department. Could this be due to manual winding watches are not so common anymore and some enthusiasts are used to automatics or quartz where the crown is mainly pulled (and more accessible) for setting the time and sometimes date?

if anyone wants to see hard to wind manual watches, many of those 50's and 60's watches with smallish and semi-recessed crowns were real pain in the asses to wind up. The speedmaster seems to have plenty of meat and diameter to the crown to wind her up in comparison.

All my watches have been divers with screw down crowns or breitling superquartz. With the exception for this speedmaster and a manual wind panerai. And we all know how easy it is to wind a panerai

I've had more hand winding watches than I can remember and the later Speedmasters with crown guards, at least for me and many others it seems, are more difficult to wind. Does it make them a pain in the butt? Not entirely, but I find it more difficult to get a good grip on the crown than on other watches. Just enough so that's it's noticeable to me. I like to use the full surface of the side of my index as illustrated by @wagudc . Simply using the fingertips? A minor annoyance IMO but an annoyance nevertheless.
Exactly.

So far the only thing the irks me is the small hard to wind crown. It's too small for my fingers and I cant grip it good. It's a pain to wind...that's all.

I felt the exact same way!

It's not that the crown is too small, it's that it doesn't pop out a click and makes it hard. I was surprised by that for sure.

I def. wish it had some more water resistance. You would think a watch that was ready for space would have some water resistance... just in case.

It does.50m. And many take wear their watch when they shower or swim. Just get it pressure test once a year for piece of mind.

I've tried various versions on, and none of the "Moonwatch" family (to my eyes and on my wrist) looked anything other than a fairly boring 3 register chrono. I know there is a well established astronaut connection, but that means little to me (even though I watched the moon landing as a kid). The nicest looking one I tried recently was one of the newer 38mm models. Even then I wasn't sufficiently impressed to consider purchasing it. Maybe if I had a chance to see a 3210.52 in the flesh ( imho, the least boring Speedmaster 馃榿) I might be tempted.......

I find mine easier to wind when I wind it forward and backwards.

I know it's in spec but wish it was a little more accurate. Mine runs about 11 seconds fast when I wear it, when I put it 6up at night (slowest position I can find) I can get it to +8. So mine averages around 9.5 a day. It's not a deal breaker and I LOVE the watch and wear it every day. But if there was one thing I wish for, it would be for it to run a little slower. Yes, I know it's in spec.

Get a Mk4 ( as per my avatar). If you wear it every day , then no need to wind!

I don't like the bubble back display casing on my co-axial Moonwatch. It makes the watch sit high on my wrist and is useless 99% of the time. I look at it. move the watch to see the rotor move, say, "Huh," and strap it on my wrist. I'd much prefer a metal back that sits a millimeter or two lower.

The big thing for me is the lack of hacking. I know about putting pressure on it to roll the timing backwards but it鈥檚 a backdoor solution
