I put mine on a few weeks ago and I can't stop wearing it to be honest... it's in beater condition at the moment, scratched crystal, bracelet could use an extra link, but it wears so well with anything, suit or T-shirt... I was going to give it the full spa treatment but I dunno if I'd wear it then
Those racing dials are something else though, does anyone know if racing service hands and dial are still available? Thanks 馃憤

Yes I'm sure they're available from STS and probably Simon Freese. However, please remember to keep the originals as if you ever want to sell, the buyer will almost certainly want them.

They're not my cup of tea, the case shape doesn't work for me.

That said, my fianc茅e's father has this example. It was this fathers - box, papers, wax dot still intact and the case is sharp.

Thanks, that's definitely a given!

This one has a great dial, Lume plots look fantastic. If it's previously unpolished and there's even a hint of the original sunburst finish then I would leave it if it were mine- just replace the crystal and mechanical service if required.

Thanks Nathan, I think it's a nice honest watch and to be fair I wouldn't change it that much, as you say a service and a crystal is all it really needs.
The, I think, original polish is still there, feintly, it's just my photography skills that are lacking more than anything else but here's some more while I'm on the train

Yes, looks great! That sunburst is as it should be for MkII of its age. I think it will be ones like this that collectors go for in the future. In the same way it's the original Ed Whites etc. That they prize so highly today.....not that I'm saying values will ever be at that level or anywhere near it.

I purchased this one years ago and after a two year search I found the racing dial and orange hands to convert it over. The movement was serviced by my watch maker about four years ago. It"s on an Omega 1159m SS bracelet and I have a beautiful display back case as well as the original SS back cover.

I rarely wear it but I'm liking the racing dial look. What do you all think?

My Speedmaster Mark II I purchased a few months back. I am trying to determine if the bracelet is original to the watch. The movement dates the watch to 1969 with serial number 28422xxx. The bracelet is a model 1162 and I know the early models came with an 1159 bracelet. Mine does have the older style clasp that has the beveled edges. Just wanted to know if anyone else has this same combination of early year watch and bracelet.

Here's the clasp on my 1162... looks the same huh?

Yeah I know, I could use an extra link in that bracelet

Do you know what year your watch is from? I'm trying to figure out the years this bracelet was used. Great looking watch by the way.
