So, who is "going" to the Watches of Knightsbridge Sale today?

Interesting....

The bidding clearly shows “Internet” or “Room bid” to get people thinking someone’s bidding on the items, but then they are “Passed”.

I would call this bollocks, and a stupid way to get people thinking there’s a bidder for the lot.

Down below an example, where clearly shows the lot has one Internet or Room bid, but then if no one else is bidding on it, then it’s Passed? 👎

Or is it because it’s under their estimate, well then why do they show that it’s even a bid??

"Room Bids" are done by the auctioneer and are common even in live auctions. They are placed below the reserve so that the next bid would hit the reserve price, resulting in a sale of the watch. However, if someone other than the auctioneer does not bid, the watch remains unsold and the lot is passed.

I think the "room" bids are absentee bids

I know that back in better days I used to put a lot of hail mary bids just under the low estimate in the hope that something fell into my lap

Oh damn, Lot 96 sold ,

25k£ , looked like a single bid too though

Very fair price i.m.o, The Grana and IWC MK x will cover +50% of that.

Quite a few Speedies passed there. ST1 made very strong money IMO after the 24% is added in. Circa £7440 if my maths is correct. I guess the 1450 bracelet added a big chunk of value.

Could the high price the ST1 (Lot 109) gets be an indication that it is rather insecurity of bidding high on a vintage watch based on just a few pictures as opposed to the market getting depressed? Truly impressed with an ST1 fetching 6000 GBP before 24% fees and taxes...

I cannot imagine the bracelet (1450) making all that difference compared to a general ST1 sale.

Did anyone here secure Lot 103 (2998-61) or Lot 107 (220 bezel)? Both look like great purchases at these prices!

Start collecting the Dirty Dozen and finish your collection at just the same time. 😉

I think there's a good chance that full set was bought to split and sell on separately.

Suspect a major re adjustment of the vintage Market is showing here

I think the bracelet has to be the difference on the ST1. Pretty sure you’ll pick one up off Chrono24 for less money.

Anyway the hunt continues!

Yup, fill in some missing pieces, upgrade a few examples and sell off the rest.

A constant stream of passed now but I bet the deluxe Connie sells. Is it me or does 124 have a whiff of redial?

Sold for £2728 inc comm so clearly some thought it was fine.

Wow was surprised about that. Didn't look too closely so maybe the deluxe had issues but I would have taken that over 124 all day.

I was surprised how low it went, especially after the last weeks of F.P Journe hypetrain on the Watchbox Studios.
