It's a difficult one to guess and very subjective. Bubbles do burst. Just look what happened to the vintage guitar market in 2012.
Vintage Speedy prices are climbing steadily all the time. In the couple of years I've been looking I'd guess at at around 15-30 % across the board on "Apollo" era moonwatches....Obviously I'm not talking about 1965-67..they're just mental!! More an average example from the era. I think we might see a price jump around the 50th Anniversary with those folks who have serious cash and want to jump on the band wagon.
No doubt Omega will be jumping all over the marketing opportunity .. and many of these affluent buyers may not be actual watch enthusiasts and and as such might only want an actual 1969 production year not really understanding the time spans between manufacture, export, and sale. It'll be a golden opportunity for all those unscrupulous Peruvian Dr Frankenstein sellers out there!!
Where I expect more dramatic relative price hikes will be in the more common, less collectable, and consequently less valuable vintage Speedies ( Mark II's and Mark III's (the chunky monkey) and possibly IV's up to about 1974. I don't know what they are actually currently selling for, but you can't seem to see a half decent Mark II under and asking price of 1800- 2000 USD at the moment, significantly more than I bought mine for 12 months ago.
I would imagine that anybody here who is lucky enough to have a moon era period Speedy won't be parting with it anytime soon.....
