Except by phone?
MMMMmmm
One would assume so. But am not so sure. It was stated as 'on line bidding only' when I was given the update.

Quite dull without any broadcasting. It's effectively a very condensed series of rudimental eBay auctions ending in rapid succession.

(Still I do find myself 'watching' it; entertainment in the corona era gets a completely different dimension... 🤔)

What's with lots 15-27? Are they being done out of sequence or did they not get an opening bid?

Thanks for the link W.

I looked over their Rolex offerings, not bad at first glance. Wouldn’t buy without better pictures or in person handling.

Two decent GMTs, lots 171 / 172, both seem to be very attractive in their own way.

Lot 171, looks to be almost all there, period correct dial, serial, caseback marking. The knock on the watch is it’s cheap and and incorrect bracelet. The case is surprisingly strong and has plenty of metal to spare. The insert leaves me wondering if it’s been replaced at one point and doesn’t serve the watch justice. I do like the watch as it has the highly desire able mark 2 dial. At the right price this could be a watch I would be very happy to own.

Lot 172, is a mark 1, and looks like everything that’s visible is period correct. Very nice insert, gorgeous dial with matching hands and folded link bracelet. Wow! What a package. If dial and hands are original, this is the one to own. Unfortunately, only two pictures are provided and authenticity can’t be confirmed. I will be watching intently.

Lot 166 also caught my attention for the wrong reason. This is a classic dealer watch. Case has been recently polished, hands are replaced. But most notable, the color on the insert looks waaaay to familiar to me. Ring a bell with anyone? Here are some pics to jog our Covid infested minds.

Now back to cleaning the floors, door handles.....

Hell of a lot being ‘sold’ just ONE bid, below estimate …

Yeah, apart from two Breitlings (the clamshell and 24hr top time) most are single bid sold as far as I can tell.

Yeah, the crisis is showing I would say, but I'll hold the verdict until we get through to the Omega and Rolex lots.

Interesting....

The bidding clearly shows “Internet” or “Room bid” to get people thinking someone’s bidding on the items, but then they are “Passed”.

I would call this bollocks, and a stupid way to get people thinking there’s a bidder for the lot.

Down below an example, where clearly shows the lot has one Internet or Room bid, but then if no one else is bidding on it, then it’s Passed? 👎

Or is it because it’s under their estimate, well then why do they show that it’s even a bid??

I was looking at lot 83, the IWC ref 666. Had a lot of nice things going for it - box, filled papers, original bracelet and ELs, non-date. The font on the dial looked off though. I wouldn't expect to see that with a 16mil serial. Not too surprised it was Passed.
