I swapped the bracelet on my Astronaut. I had it on a vintage JB Champion komfit, but I always come back to this old Kriesler expansion bracelet. I love the look of it and the curved end links, and it is very comfortable.

I'm a new member and thought I would post my Accutrons. The first is a 1971 Accutron, Then a 1965 Astronaut, and a 1974 Accuquartz. All on original straps/bands. The 65 and 74 are original owner/family watches. The 71 I found in 1974 outside a bank!

That is a very sharp bullet bracelet on the Astronaut, very nice!

If you are insisting on getting the Accutron repaired in your local area, the only repair close that I am semi-familiar with would be Starfindings (Ernie Goldman). I used them many years ago for 2-3 watches when they were downtown NYC but have moved to Jersey but that's still close enough. I would label them average but better than many that advertise greatness but nothing compared to a couple of true experts. I recall their warranty policy is good if you do have issues with the watch.

Yes, assuming that the caseback is original to the watch. I believe that these doctor's watches were all sold gold. If I am correct the case is not original, or might it be possible to fit a plated caseback to gold case?

EDIT: I appear to be wrong as I have examples of gold plated Accutron doctor's watches:

That is a beauty. What year is it from?

M9 Case back; so 1969.

The condition looks so much newer but the dial doesn't say Bulova and looks like an M3 or M4.

I love those bracelets too. They feel substantial and are very comfortable. A nice pickup.

I guess I got lucky with this; there weren’t much people bidding on this watch because the watch doesn’t run/hum, and mainly due to the fact that on the listed Auction photos; the watch’s Crystal was all scratched up and smudges everywhere to the point where the text Accutron & Astronaut looked blurry, it also had Gunk throughout the Watchcase, Bracelet and Bezel Ring, (The previous owner probably haven’t washed it for decades!) However I noticed just how sharp the watch Case& Bezel are; so I figured it is just built up sweat/dirt, which turned out to be true! As soon as I received the watch I took a brush and start working, also buffed the crystal with some PlastX, and TADA was shocked with the Condition after a little cleaning. Oh yeah the Lume still glows (but only for 2-3 mins before it dies out)

Nice catch. You should be able to get it humming again. Whom will you entrust it to?

As with Everyone, I will entrust it to Rob Berkavicius.

Rob Berkavicius has serviced both of my Accutrons too. I was hesitant to send them from the US to Thailand but all went smoothly. Highly recommended.

My 1964 Astronaut with a generic bullet bracelet. I am not skilled at taking a good wristshot--what looks like severe scratcheson the bezel at 3 is an artifact and not really there.
