The condition looks so much newer but the dial doesn't say Bulova and looks like an M3 or M4.
These original Bulova Accutron Astronaut "T" Black Dial Day/Night Type 3 watches were launched in 1968 so you won't see one dated in the early 60's unless someone has swapped casebacks.

And as a side note, these Astronauts sure had a variety of dial printing variations. Note my pic.

Top Pic only says (Accutron)
Middle Pic says (Bulova Accutron with Bulova as the top word)
The bottom Pic says (Accutron Bulova with Accutron being the top word.)

3 Different wording variations on these standard black dials. *Does not include the Very early 1962 dial variants.

I had and sold a 1962 astronaut. One of my biggest watch regrets.

No pictures at this time, but a friend (in his 30s) has happened upon a treasure trove of Accutrons, and Accutron parts, residue from the estate of a deceased watchmaker. Without exaggeration, this trove consists of in excess of 100 complete Accutrons. Also , his bounty includes Accutron donor movements (50 or so), and tin boxes containing dismantled Accutrons. I haven’t had the chance to go through a box contains a huge assortment of miscellaneous NOS parts envelopes to see what is there. There are 214 and 218 watches and movements, Omega F300 watches and movements, and assorted other makes that use the F300 movement, AND Hamilton Electrics! Plus, numerous antique tools as might have been used by a watchmaker, staking tool, two timing machines (not complete), the total number of boxes too numerous to fit into the box of his Hyundai truck. He has his sights set on an Accutron Astonaut (214) which will be his first project. This one will be his first endeavour in servicing an Accutron. Stay tuned!

I have a stash of Bulova stuff as well. When I have a chance, I’ll see what might be there. Stay tuned.

Jarett set me up with some. They look fine to me in person, but photographically, they are very obviously different from the dial.

The luminous material on the dial will have changed colour over the decades. Chances of finding new hands that will match in colour are likely zilch.

I would love to find a nice dial for an Astronaut I just bought.

Grainy photos and a 25 year eBay seller with 100% positive feedback led me to buying this otherwise nice Type 4 Astronaut. It is a bit like having a tooth missing in an otherwise radiant smile. My tried and true method of buying the seller even when the photos sucked let me down for once. Does anyone know where I could find another dial for this? Unicorn poop probably? Thanks in advance.

A dial shot and more.

Yeah, thanks. I chose the Swiss model because the dial and bezel are so much nicer than the average Astronaut. At least the dials on ones that I don't own 😁.
