Show us your vintage Accutron! I am staggered at the value for money you get, and there has been such a funky, colorful range of designs over the years.

Let me start with my NA, an Accutron "261" that has been re-issued as well in 2021. This is the 1971 original.

My one owner (me) 1964 Accutron 214. Looks and runs like new. Worn the day we married (1966), at Expo ‘67 in Montreal when we were caught in a cloud bust outside the Czech Pavilion, at our son’s chiristening in 1971, at our 50th wedding anniversary in 2016, at our 55th wedding anniversary, and today. One of my collection of 25 Accutrons.

And a picture of my Accutron 214 Spaceview. From about 1967.

My ‘73 Spaceview (pretty much a twin to @Canuck ’s), a bit of a barnfind while on a memorable vacation with my wife and parents

A surprise gift from my dad on my 40th, who sought this out when he learned I was collecting vintage watches. Pictured with its Omega cousin

You know there's going to be an Astronaut so let me be the first.

But in spite of the space connection they are still Accutrons.

I searched for this 1963 Accutron because it only had Accutron on the dial (no Bulova), the coffin bracelet and was used by the early pilots. I sold a beautiful 1967 Astronaut because I didn't think I needed two. That was an original owner and a great watch. So this watch had big shoes to fill.

But the interesting part is who owned this. The man who sold it was the son of the original owner. His dad was a Mississippi river barge pilot. His dad loved the watch for its accuracy. Unfortunately he passed away early in his life and this watch was stored in a safety deposit box.

I paid him a fair market price, discounting it for the needed service and it didn't have the bracelet, which I found elsewhere. But I told him about the space connection that he didn't know, that his watch was a special early watch in great condition and that his dad had a great watch.

Martell Grover in Idaho serviced the watch and it is back to life outside the safety deposit box.

This watch is what makes this hobby fun for me. It's interesting to feel the connection to the previous owner and what the watch meant to his son. The tactile feel and intimacy of these vintage watches makes this different from other hobbies. My grail is to find an original watch that shows it was worn but not abused. There's satisfaction from getting it serviced and brought back to life.

And it's an Accutron!

We've had: Accutron Astronaut and Accutron Bulova Astronaut, so to complete the collection here's my Bulova Accutron Astronaut from 1969.

I found this one at a yard sale. I got the box and booklet elsewhere and the tuning fork was used to test police RADARs many years ago. The watch is nice but the second hand is so dominant that when I check the time I often mistake it for the minute hand. The two gold links were in the box. If they are of use to you send me a PM.

I have my Swiss dial oddities.

Astronaut with Swiss text on the dial, but not a normal "swiss" dial design. I've seen a few others like this with the over filled lume, and identical otherwise.

And then my less common Swiss dial Deep Sea with the Swiss 2182F inside (electronic battery disconnect hack)

So many favourite Accutrons. I just don’t know which one to show next. My collection of Accutrons has changed since this picture was taken. I’d have to count, but I think I have 24 now. There are several Accuquartz, a 955Q (quartz) Railroader, and a digital LED Bulova Computron in there as well.
