Just back from service, Sept 1966 Sportsmatic 5 Dolphin case back proof/proof 21j Diashock.

Sorry I cant do a movement shot,I lack the proper tools to open and close the case.

It's on a cheapie leather strap due to the awkward 19mm lug size. Any suggestions for a better look?

love my skx, great tool
Great watch. I have one too.
I’m assuming you’re not based in the UK, where to call someone a ‘Great tool’ has generally been considered a provocative remark?

Two weeks ago was better than any Christmas i ever had ... 7 watches came back from service after almost 1/3rd of a year away. And among those 7 were the following 4. Needless to say...don't know what to slap on the wrist of late ... so much candy ... well, at least I think so.

Its interesting how vintage Seiko's patinate differently to vintage Omegas. I guess the were not using tritium (i have not done any investigation in this matter)...and from my feeling the glow lasts a bit longer too...

I left them as found, just movement service, and new crystals...

The only one I haven't yet worn is the blue 6139 - its lugs are slightly thinner than the yellow dialed brothers (not from polish, but the triangular facets where the springbars clip in are longer and thinner) and so all of the seiko endlinks I have just slip over. And this is a watch that deserves a bracelet...so I practice patience and wait some more.

Its difficult to pick a favorite, but the gmt and the racing are fighting for first spot.

All of them are '69ers (so pre moon) 😀

@eugeneandresson Amazing collection, best Seiko set I have seen. I understand how excited you are, I would be the same. All are incredible, grey dial is my fav though.

Would you mind sharing who did the work for you?

Thanks

Fantastic! An insane collection to find in one shot. If you can, please post a pic of the bracelet you need links for. You never know what people have squirreled away. That 6139 is just yummy.

Thank you kindly Sir! Yes, that grey dial is so much better in the flesh...

A lovely gentleman by the name of Richard Askham in the UK did the work. I was going to the UK for a few days in any case, so I took them with me and popped them in the post locally.

And thank you Sir! Not all found in one-shot, but all sent for service in one shot! I am also one of those 'fools' who services everything before he wears them...

That's a great idea. Here is the bracelet. Its even got the original factory stickers still left on the underside of the clasp (not pictured). Upon inspection I thought I could cheat and put a pogue h-link in there to extend (because they look almost identical), but when I did that there was just enough difference not to work ... i.e the bits that slide out to make the connection on the pogue H-link : left will connect to right and so on, but on this one the center connects left and right ... a pity, as I have a pogue bracelet that is waaaaaay to big (and I have 7.5 inch wrists).

Here is an ebay link to a bracelet that might work as a donor. I purchased one from this seller and it's on this 6119-8490.

the links do taper around to the clasp and the center blocks appear very similiar. No connection to seller except that I'm a satisfied international customer. Sorry I don't have a link to fit yours.
