Looks to be in good shape - if your watchmaker has done any alarm watches previously, I doubt he would have problems with this one. The tech guides give step by step instructions, so if they are not familiar they can just follow along and it's pretty straightforward.

The only serious problems I've had with these are when they have had moisture inside - even if the rest of the movement is okay the spacer ring and some small items on the perimeter of the movement can still be corroded, like the alarm setting wheel holder. But if it's not leaked, he should be good.

Cheers, Al
Thanks, Al. I would be surprised. The sellers pictures of it looked good to me.

Movement looks good from this view certainly - some corrosion in the case back groove but that's not unusual. Leaks in the crown or alarm button gaskets though may cause corrosion on the perimeter parts that can't be seen until the movement is out of the case though. Just something for your watchmaker to check on.

For example this one looked pretty good too...

But when I removed it you can see the corrosion I'm referring to here (there's a screw there that's pretty rusted):

And deeper in more corrosion:

Certainly not seen on every one of these I've done, but not an unusual thing either. Just like any watch once the seals go water can get in and cause problems.

Cheers, Al

Thanks Al. That's one of those posts that the polite side of me wants to "like" and the other, practical, self-interested side is saying "Uh,uh. No way; you don't like nothing like that..."

Didn't mean to cause you any panic - the one I'm showing photos of was not as good in terms of condition as the one you have. Most likely you are fine, but again just something to be aware of.

Cheers, Al

I’m a member of the Seiko club now. Incredible value, I love it.
I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on this exact puppy. How is it in person??

My opinion, I like it as much as my brand new PO I got in Dec. The dial color doesn’t take a good pic, I’ve seen many that give it a teal color when in the light. It’s dark. It’s a solid watch, but wears light on the wrist...really comfortable for me.

One major reason I like it as it’s “just a Seiko” to non watch enthusiasts. It’s very nice under the radar quality and uniqueness.

I have a soft spot for Seiko. Here's one of my favourite vintage pieces which is still running to chronometer specs despite being nearly 50 years old

Just got this one in. ANA 7S26-0620 from Dec 2003. Liked them from the first time I saw a photo of one.
I know the feeling... off to set an eBay alert. Never seen it before.

isn't this a 007 watch? Rodger Moore? I like it...
Hi.
No unfortunately it does not issue orders on ticker tape as per film!

Ah, knitwear. I’d forgotten about knitwear (or erased it from memory, more like.)
