    Terrific!
    But it does have the features of the 1964 models rather than 1967 if I am not wrong: red GMT hand, Made in japan only at 6.

    :thumbsdown:::confused2:::)

    Yes, I thought that too - it appears that there are a few 1967-marked watches with Olympic case backs and features... and it's possible the 6117 had a red GMT hand, but mine's a 6127-7000...

    I think the world timers can be a bit of a hash up from the factory. Messaged someone on scwf about some parts and mentioned that my 6217-7010 has a 7010 caseback number but the dial states 7000. Be mentioned apparently it's not unusual with these.

    That's common on almost all Seikos. The last four digits on the dial refer to the dial reference and not the watch reference. They almost never match. The first four digits should match as they identify the movement calibre. Hope this clarifies the issue for you.

    Nothing vintage but I rather like my '5' as a beater:

    I picked up a Bell-Matic recently. Really like this watch. I have a feeling it will be a challenge for my watchmaker when I send it in for service. Feels like there's a LOT of movement crammed into this case.

    Yes, that confirms what my hands lead me to suspect: There's a lot going on inside that case.

    Looks to be in good shape - if your watchmaker has done any alarm watches previously, I doubt he would have problems with this one. The tech guides give step by step instructions, so if they are not familiar they can just follow along and it's pretty straightforward.

    The only serious problems I've had with these are when they have had moisture inside - even if the rest of the movement is okay the spacer ring and some small items on the perimeter of the movement can still be corroded, like the alarm setting wheel holder. But if it's not leaked, he should be good.

    Cheers, Al
