Saw an odd one on ebay, almost bought it. Its a gold toned two tone dial quartz from the 90's with a huge Fed Ex logo on the case back. A good looking watch , gauranteed to work with a 30 day warranty, ,but the thin plating is worn through in places. less than 40 bucks. Probably mostly plastic inside.
Its where it all started for me...now only a Turtle (SRP777) and one 6139 left. I keep meaning to wear the Turtle on vacation/beach but it hasn't left the house. Diver group shot was at the height of it.
Santa came a little late with this one.... My 2nd to the last purchase of the year. The last one is a Bellmatic that wont be here for another 10 days This little gem is a December 1971 6119-8490 with a GREEN Bezel and Khaki dial and a sort of pinkish cast to the hour indicators. In really great shape for a 47 year old Seiko. So far is running and keeping time, but there is a problem with the day of the week setting. This is the 6119c which should have a quickset for the day, but it doesn't work. Also came with an ill fitting band extender which damaged the original clasp. So I have some work to do with this one.
Here is my Grand Seiko, my King Seiko, my Lord Seiko largest part of my collection is Seiko they have a rich history and some interesting watches
I was 29 years old when I got a watch I take care of my stuff here it is been locked away for 10 years my 1989 first watch purchase I did not clean the crystal smudged but not a scratch on it 29 years old lum still glows. It is worth nothing but it started my love of watches
Meet the twins.....a pair of 1970 7006-8000 Seiko 5's with original BOR bracelets...... The Black dial will be off to service as it is in noticeably worse condition and has some running issues. New crystal and maybe new bezel
Two manuals, an auto and three kinetics (along with a bunch of quartz acquired in my naive youth) Hope to add a vintage King and Grand Seiko in the near future, bank manager and wife willing...
This seems to be a pretty common theme here. The only ones I ever wear are the two bottom left. The middle one (7A28-7039) is my oldest purchased-new watch and I wore it for 15+ years; the bottom left is the only watch I'd refer to as a "beater." I also have a gold-plated 7A28-7029 that isn't shown because I purchased it just for parts needed for the 7039. This reminds me that I've been meaning to list the 7T62 (top row middle) because I've never worn it instead of the "beater."
