It is a subforum in the same manner that ""Vintage Omega Watches" is a subforum.

If there absolutely had to be made another subforum, I'd rather have a "Technical" subforum to separate those from the more light-heartened ones in "Open Discussion".

Yea but Seiko is hardly subflora.
If OF starts getting into subflora, what's next, subfauna?

I think not:
Yeah but not enough people even know what those are... or that they are Seiko products.

Like that little robot in the corner of the production floor in the last place I worked.... beautiful thing, fast, reliable, quiet.... Seiko.....

Having just acquired my first two Omega's only a few months ago, I'm delighted to see the interest in Seiko's by this community.

This 6139-6002 was given to me brand new in 1978 by a girlfriend. Amazingly enough, she's still married to me after 37 years. She and the watch continue to tick along just fine. Both are all original and haven't had any major service. I think the watch could benefit from a service but I'm not sure I want to spend the money on it. Nothing is required for my lovely bride.

These are quartz but are still getting up there in age.....

This 7A48-5000 was bought in 1986. I just had the crystal recently replaced since it truly had the crap beaten out of it.

This 6M25 is the coolest watch I've got. It's the one with "Dancing Hands". A friend showed me his around 1992 or so. I just had to have one. He bought his in Hong Kong and said he couldn't find it in North America. I looked around a lot in North America also with no luck. Passing through Heathrow, one day I saw it in a watch shop. I just handed over my credit card and didn't even ask how much it was. I won't describe what it does here. Catch a demo video on Youtube:

I tend to agree with @ConElPueblo and @efauser. It's fractured enough as it is and the last thing you want is another WUS. Can't we all just play nicely and post more photos of Seikos?

6309-7040 from December '81. Replacement dial, hands and bezel. If that was a Speedy the value would have been severely affected. But it's a Seiko, does it matter? No, it'll be around for a while yet.

No need for a sub-forum, but I think it's great to have its own thread for the brand since it's so ubiquitous across a lot of varied collections. Enjoying my GS Special today, and the design is quite special indeed!

Nice to see so many nice Seikos on this forum! I thought I'd add my small collection to the mix:

In the first photo, starting from the top left, a Seiko Super from the 1950s, a King Seiko KS44, Grand Seiko GS56, a 6138-0011 "UFO", 6139-6002 "blue pogue", and a Business Bell.

In the second photo, a 6117-6409 World Time, 6309-7049 & 6306-7001 divers, 5117-8990 one button chrono, 6139-7010 and finally my only modern Seiko, the Blue Lagoon limited edition Samurai

After getting hooked on the analog quartz chrono coolness of the 7a38,

... I picked this pair of RAF Gen 1 7a28s up for a fairly hefty price ...

The chrono action on the 7a28/38s is great - see 1:11s at...

The dial at 3 which is marked 1/10 s actually counts 1/20ths, and when you reset the chrono all 3 hands (that one, the minutes at 9 and the big sweep chrono hand) do a sweep clockwise back to reset at 12. In fact, if you press and hold the bottom right button when the chrono isn't running, it shows a sweep of all the hands 😀

Can I have dibs on one of the Gen 1s?
