I love those vintage Hi-Beats and the Grand Seikos, very classy. I do kinda dislike a lot of the entry level men's quartz from the mid and late 80's. I think this is where the cheap Seiko stigmata arose from.
Yep, it's Ewen Bremner, Ewan McGregor and Robert Carlyle, from Trainspotting... Since my name is Ewan, I figured I'd go for the guy in the middle
Just added to my Seiko collection with this 1959 Seiko Crown. Nice original condition for a 57 year old.
Congrats, looks great! Looks like you've started down the Seiko rabbit hole, you'll be browsing vintage GS soon enough...
Bought a 6105 in a NEX in country. Currently with a collector. Couldn't bear to wear it after I found it after many decades in a drawer.
Super Seiko Sunday! Hello from sunny UK. A trio of 70s seikos which 2 are new to me so if there's any issues please shout up, always learning here. Grand quartz 9943-8030/20 , aug 78. This has , according to my google research, has a cantaloupe terrain dail? Then a 4006-6080 Bellmatic , nov 76. Working well and in good shape. Also a gold cap KS 5625-7110 high beat, jan 71. This and the quartz, obviously, keep really great time. Now need a GS to finish off. Ta ta
there's absolutely no shame in a Seiko... It is not a skeleton in my closet, and I still proudly wear them, and will likely add a GrandSeiko in the near future...
I just picked up a Turtle reissue to wear as my weekend beater. Presently running at -2 seconds per day... unbelievable value.
@Private_Doberman - what model is this? I've been eying the SARB033, but I don't love the 38mm case size.
It is the SRPA 25J1 with the 4R35 movement. My photo does not do it justice. Stunning watch on the wrist.
The SKX 031 and 033 was Seiko's "homage" to the Rolex Submariner. I absolutely love mine. the 033 looks like a Rolex GMT
