Alex at Artifice does mods as well. I'm not sure about regular service though. Beware though, he over commits on the schedule. If you are patient he is a good one.

Is it me or are Bellmatics all over the place right now? Normally uncommon on eBay but current there is a bunch. Plus some of the Seiko micro blogs have been talking about them.

I've seen them for sale in large numbers for as long as I've been interested in watches, but Seiko prices are a mystery to me. The one I got is in as good condition as you could possibly want from a non-NOS specimen, yet it was the cheapest available on the Bay. I would really like to add at least one chronograph, a diver and possibly a high beat KS/GS this year.

I too believe that the vintage Japanese market is laughably underrated (for all that particular statement is worth...) and I expect a surge in prices for early, automatic chronos and early divers. And those are just Seikos. Look at how little money is being paid for Orient King Divers?

I think it's underrated in some areas, but as you stated prices are starting to catch up with chronographs and divers, and continue to rise for specific GS models. If you're looking to add a hi-beat, the 6155/56 are some great models to look at and I think priced pretty well (from certain sources) for the time being. I'll warn you though that your vintage GS collection will probably morph into more than one watch after you get a hold of the first one...

Prices are starting to rise across the board. You can't get a decent 6159-7000/1 for less than $6,000, which is almost into vintage rolex territory, And the hi-beat 45xx used to be around $400, but are now regularly above $600 for one with a dial in good condition. The most underrated of all is the titanium 6159-7010, which can still be had for around $2,000.

I wish everybody would just stop yapping on and on and on and on about bloody Seikos!

They're crap! Everybody knows that. The bubble has bursted well and truly. Nobody wants them, too many problems with them.

Now run away and find another fanboy brand to suck the life out of and push prices through the roof.

Sheesh! It's almost as bad as Speedmasters! 🙄

Oh, sorry, an obligatory pic.

That's horrible, Jim. I think given its condition, I'd be prepared to take it off your hands for $50?

Okay, so its the Omega Forum. We all love them and own far more of them than we'll admit to. But! I've notice we all seem to have a Seiko somewhere in our pasts, the hundred dollar diver, that skeleton in the closet, the fat girl friend that was so much fun when you were 17 but that you've since hidden the photos of, the horrible first car or motorcycle you won't ever admit to now..........

So out with 'em guys. Drag them out and snap a picture.

Lets see your Seikos!

Notice you never throw out the photo of that old girl friend..........

Fun fat girlfriend comment is ace bro

Here's my helmet. Al Pacino used to wear one apparently. The thing next to it is a chronograph from a heinkel bomber.

Yes have a Seiko helmet also mine is on a mesh bracelet. They call it the Al Pacino because he did wear one in Bobby Deerfield a movie where he played a race car driver. He is a famous driver and he does a commercial for Seiko. They also call it the helmet watch because it kind of looks like one and I have also heard it called the Darth Vader.

I love my Swiss watches, but something has to be said about that watch you don't care what it goes through...
