My only Seiko, in need of a new battery. It's an IQ series bought in 1989. I learned with this watch that gold plating is not for me. DSC_8369.JPG

That dial at the 6 -- I love that indicator bit. Sorta reminds me of a steamboat speed thingamajigger in the pilothouse.

Oh! I posted already in WRUW, but I must say the Seikos are often my daily wear - due to a child infestation at home - they bust the crap out of nearly everything I own... still, I plan to bust the crap out of their stuff when I'm old and senile... here's one of my seikos....

I've beaten all mine to death. Switched to Victorinox because they held up better. However I realize now that I was buying the pretty case watches not the tools. I think they make some fantastic watches and are the equal or better of any Swiss brand. They just have this quartz thing to live down. I love the fact that they are now showcasing their top guys and the fine watchmaking operations.

I haven't posted it in this thread, but I have this being modified (6R15 movement, more subdued hands, double dome crystal, coke bezel). The lugs were drilled out by a Seiko hobbyist/machinist. It should be back in my c***-scratchers by next weekend.

Nice, so you are going black dial with an 009 bezel? I dig that second hand! And wow you really want hacking lol!

Been wearing this exclusively for about a week. It's light, simple and scarily accurate. I don't get overly obsessive about timekeeping, but I'd guess it's within 30 secs of when I set it last.

Almost makes you wonder why you'd pay 100x the price of this for a "high-end" timepiece...:whipped:::stirthepot::

The coke bezel is black/red. From what I understand, the 009 has a deep blue/red bezel. It's really only noticeable when it's in sunlight (otherwise it looks red & black), but I believe that's the way it is.

Whoops mentally transposed Coke and Pepsi lol. The 009 is definitely blue and red.

In the next month or two I'm buying that model. Wife suggested I get that color. Want something for a beach vacation that I don't have to worry about.

    Hi all,

I too have a Seiko! It's an SNX115 I modified with a custom dial and hands set. Can you guess the watch that inspired this homage? Yep that's right, it's the venerable Omega Railmaster! Seeing how a truly abused specimen just went for over 7k on the 'bay, I figured it was unlikely I could add one to my collection any time soon. Instead I have an affordable daily wearer that I love to look at! Cool factor not as high, but on the other hand I can still pay my rent.
