I did not know about this! Thanks for sharing. The data on daylight savings time seems pretty clear across the pond too. It's so odd that we can't just implement better policies based on the research.

A nice one just sold at online auction on IG on two_vintage_seikos nicer than mine. Interesting in that the serial number dates watch to Feb 1972, and it has the same separation of London and GMT as mine. The British parliament overturned the experiment and things went back to "normal" in Oct 1971. So I presume that Seiko had a pile of these watches and continued to sell them after the change even though they were no longer correct. So I guess a watch dated after Oct 1971 with this dial would actually be an "error bezel"..
If you dont follow two_vintage_seikos on IG you should have a look- they have some great stuff and are totally reliable, and the auctions are in Australian $ which is about .62 USD. Have a look. You need to follow them first, then they approve you to bid. A little tricky at first but you get it quickly.

Thanks! I do follow them and check the listings every morning. I haven't bid on anything yet but there have been a lot of tempting items... Spent too much already this year though.... But now that I said that I just know they're going to list something irresistible to me.

It can get nutty the time difference sometimes requires setting your alarm to bid at auction ending at 6 am!!!

Looks completely authentic to me. And in pretty good overall condition too. Difficult to see, but the case may have had a polish. Hard to say what fair market value is. The black dial 6117-601X is rare among these 60s Seiko world timers. More uncommon than the 1964 olympic one. But those will be more in demand because it's the first model and has the olympic connection. Value would also depend on the movement running well and if it's been serviced recently.

Thanks for the feedback :) Apparently it's been serviced last year and running as it should. The bracelet seems to be consistent with examples online as well. The asking price is about USD600.

A couple of mine from 1964:

And with a couple more of the subsequent models (a 6117-6010 and 6217-7010):

Like I said, I find it hard to give a market value. But if it were me looking to buy that watch with the recent service and the bracelet I wouldn't consider $600 unreasonable.

If you do decide to buy it, post some pictures here when it's arrived. Never enough Seiko world timers!
