Thanks for that. 😉 I can see the headline now.....

SOL loses damaged watch - caught because of internet admissions!

Gotcha. I'm sure they won't think anything is suspicious about the watch conveniently falling to the bottom of the ocean mere days after it getting accidentally damaged. ::stirthepot::

Glad I quoted this stuff! It could be evidence! 😁

They can think what they want and they'll either choose to hold up their side of the deal or not. I am completely aware of the fact that this will likely raise a flag for them, but what else can I do? I'll submit a claim and suck it up. Also, JM doesn't just cut checks, they pay your jeweler or dealer directly for the replacement. I just want the frigging watch back.

Also- the watch was hardly "damaged." It got scuffed and had been keeping near perfect time. I didn't need a new watch because of a scuff. And they would have repaired it anyways at no cost to me, so what do I have to gain out of a claim other than screwing myself over by getting dropped from the policy and having this mark on my CLUE report?

Well, give the guy you sold it to (on the boat, at the dock, in the bar.... wherever) the cash back and he can return it to you. Just tell him you weren't bright enough to keep quiet, and detailed the entire process on the internet, wrongly thinking it would add veracity to your story.

About the only thing you could do more obvious this week is title your threads "Insurance Scam on Seamster!".

Excellent idea! 👍 I'm sure Jeweler's Mutual would love to read all of your posts. I bet they'd enjoy it if somebody gave them an anonymous tip too. 😜 I'll leave you with one possible equation:

red flag = orange jumpsuit

Trolling is fun for you eh?

We are off to look for that spot in the harbor shortly. Just met my buddy's diver friend and the guy is a total hippy AND owns a sweet vintage submariner. He doesn't dive with it though..

While it feels impossible- wish me luck!

Hoping for a positive result. If it is found will be a good test of the seals.

Hmmm, what do you think the odds of recovering the "lost" watch now that the OP's plan is out of the bag and posted on an internet forum for all to see? Sure would be better to have a wet watch with a scuff than a stretch of hard time. 😁

Is anyone having as much fun as I am here? 😗 😜

Being from New Jersey, I never suspect any type of insurance fraud.

A fellow New Jerseyan, eh? That explains a shit-ton. Are you interested? I have a bridge I'd like to sell you, only thing is, the lanes are all jammed...

If I were a real dickhead, I'd give the OP a custom avatar message about this situation.

Give him a day or two... If the insurance ponies up you can easily snipe him from the back ... 😁

Who knew?

And he's good at pretending... 😉
