·So sorry to hear this, I'd be distraught. Glad you are covered by insurance, should soften the blow of losing it. Hope it works out well.

Wait one gawd dammed minute..... @Son of Light - is this the same Seamaster that fell off the desk onto the tile floor?
Tale of the Cursed Seamaster bro. Must be because I got it GM. It probably had spells cast on it.
Just one more thing.....
So the new watch which was damaged by your 19 month old son, which was fully insured, "fell" off your wrist because the clasp "malfunctioned"? Is that about right?
No kidding! Much obliged.
I actually never said it "malfunctioned" or simply "fell." I - admittedly and foolishly - had been messing with the dive extension. While trying to climb onto a 27 ft sailboat out in open water (ever do that? Not easy) I whacked my wrist against the boat as it was getting tossed around. I must not have done the clasp correctly or securely because when my hand hit the hull it fully opened and before I could react the thing was gone.
Yea, it sucks and it was a stupid mistake.
Regarding my son dropping it: are you a parent? If you are, you know that with a toddler they gain more confidence and capability every day. He has never once gone after or been able to get things on my desk. He managed to take down a laptop along with the watch. It's not easy to anticipate every move he'll be able to make every day. Welcome to parenthood.
We believe you. Really, we do. Absolutely and totally. I mean, this kind of stuff happens. Being from New Jersey, I never suspect any type of insurance fraud.
Excuse me while I go get my cigar and trench coat. 😁
Ah NJ. No wonder. Being from NY I never expect any type of reasonable or respectable behavior from you guys.
Right, and NY isn't just as infamous as NJ. Well, thank you sir. I appreciate your time.
......oh, just curious about something so one more question if you don't mind. Are you going to tell the insurance company about the incident with your son when you file the claim? Would you do that, sir?
Well, listen, I'm kinda pressed for time so I'll run along. Thanks for the information.
I'd suggest "An Insurance Claim Just Waiting to Happen"

Already told them the day it happened and had them document the call in case it malfunctioned in the coming weeks. I'm all for total transparency.
