All the signs on this one are on green but given the huge amount of black redials I was wondering. Mainly because the shape of the S. Is this original? I can see the paint laying on top on macro. It is a great looking font type I never saw before. Any ideas????

cal 565 in a 166.023.

In the middle of bidding and not sure whether to do or not but don’t want to loose this one.

And if it is a redial it is the best I have ever seen. See also this one from up close.

Yes, it's original. this is a known dial variant for the Cosmic.

People on here with far more experience than me but I’d say from a dial perspective, I think it looks legit.
To my (rookie) eye, the subtle serifs on the text appear correct and I see no issue with the large 'S' in Seamaster
My only hesitation would be the '3-D' appearance of the text - even under a loupe the painted lettering on my 136.022 Cosmic is 'flat'. That's where I'll defer to more esteemed forum members

Absolutely love the numerals on that dial variation - I've seen it referred to as a Bauhaus dial

EDIT - If X350 XJR gives the thumbs up, that's a pretty solid endorsement - forget my hesitations!

This got me too, I don’t recall seeing such thick looking paint before. But others here have seen many more watches than I have. Always so much to learn from OF 📖

I was looking at this a few weeks ago and dismissed it as I dislike roman numerals - the 8 had completely thrown my quick scan...

Now I can see the design cues properly I really like it!

Will have to keep an eye out... although, dibs if you decide to sell!

great looking watch - enjoy it!

Very nice pick up. My dial is a little worse for wear, but my manual wind says hello.

I have recently joined the Cosmic Jeffersonia dial club too. It's a great looking dial in the flesh!

Hi everyone! I'm looking to get one of these rare watches. I have also seen some with the thicker paint and some with thinner paint. Any thoughts on this, I kinda doubt someone could actually repaint these numbers so well

Are you asking if the dials original? If so, no worries there - it’s fine.

Also, why are the called ‘Jefferson’ dials?

Yeah I've seen some with thicker x and some with thinner x so was wondering if all original either way thanks
