not wasting time. appreciate all the advice. attenuated to delete post entirely, but couldn't figure out how

Why would you delete the original post? It’s a good learning tool and contributes to the overall library of the forum to help others learn.

Nice watch, but he's really starting to go towards obscene pricing and with this one extremely obscene.....and I've defended him and his pricing on more than one occasion just recently.

As others have noted these are pretty hard to find in good/collectable condition so there is of course a premium to be paid for a nice specimen. Also I'd say that these have long been an undervalued vintage Omega, certainly when taking into account the complications/attractiveness/lack of volume/% of original dials, etc, etc. But still for $12.5K I'd expect to be able to buy two.

You can’t really compare prices between examples with original and repainted dials. These are so often redialed that an original dial alone carries a huge premium.

Exactly, shouldn't really be giving advice on these if a redial can't be recognised!

I don't want to upset this dealers weird fan club but I think it's a gross and unreasonable markup for one with such a mediocre dial and soft pitted/corroded case, the case back is particularly bad, I could not forgive it. 'Buy the seller' has gone way too far with this particular dealer and the auction vs dealer price discrepancy is probably at an all time high of late so there are good watches to be found for much less if you are willing to put some time into hunting.

Note the watch you posted was discoverable via invaluable and not well hidden when it seemingly got almost no interest and sold for bottom estimate (minor caveat, the invaluable archive is generally reliable but isn't always 100% correct so sometimes you have to check with the auction house directly to verify results)

Wow lets assume a 30% buyers premium, that's 2600 Euros, or $2800 or so... quite a bargain! Finding one at that price is almost unheard of these days, but it clearly can be done! I honestly can't remember seeing one at this price for a long while.
