Good point - thanks for clarifying.

Naiad crown. Weird name? That's the original crown with 300's distinguished by the less circular, pinched Omega logo?

Kox,
Many thanks for the link - interesting stuff.
So are Naiad / non-Naiad crowns interchangeable on SM300's? or are all SM300 crowns Naiad? How do you distinguish between an original crown vs. service replacement? Are NOS originals still available?

Try reading it one more time;-)
But in short, yes, all sm300 crowns are naiad, but obviously not the screw-down crowns.. and yes, they are interchangeable. The original ones can be identified primarily by logo type and size. Skinny flat feet and smaller depth. The typical one, below.

Doing some research on these and can't believe only one post for 2017 and one year since the last posting.

Are they all bought up and in the vaults?

Nice barn find, was the movement rusted out?

I have seen very few on the market this past year. Majority in the market are the WatchCo new builds or franken-watches with mismatched parts. And the good ones are online for a fortune, or as you say, locked away in vaults.

Movement was immaculate. It was mostly dirt and grit under the bezel, luckily no real signs of moisture.

Case Reference: 165.024
Case Maker: CB
Year: 1967
Movement Caliber: 552
Serial Range: 24.702.XXX (confirmed as Feb. 1967) serial 24.70x,xxx were produced into the first half of '67
Bezel Type: Type E, rounded top '3' - flat top '4' - angled serif on '1 (1967?)
Dial Type: Big Triangle, pin holes, no date. Original dial and plots fade in pitch blackness in about 30secs after exposure to UV light. I have seen this more "green" on original dials from '67 but mainly on BT military issues" Omega service has confirmed an original dial and that plots have not been re-coloured. Might be a later exchange as Feb 1967 might be too early for the BT dial?? But things can be fluid with Omega at that time.
Hand Type: Sword - recoloured
Bracelet Type: 1039/516
Crown Type: Omega screw down
Crystal: Omega service replacement
