Seamaster 2937-2 hands & subdial—is this a thing

Purely for my own edification, I'd like to know what folks here think about this 1950s Seamaster that recently sold for US$2000 on everyone's favorite watch-and-lifestyle website.



That minute hand stretching way beyond the hashmarks, that subseconds dial meaninglessly sweeping over the same track—did Omega design and produce this dial? I'm hardly an expert, but I haven't seen a pre-1970s Omega design with this let's say esthetic. Does that domed crown go with this watch? Would anything go with this?

Can't tell you if this was legit for 2937s, but especially on the cal. 420 SMs (2759/2761) this combination of minute hands stretching beyond the minute ticks was pretty common, so generally it's not unheard of.
