    Hi all!

My dad recently found my grandfather's old omega watch in the attic. He took it to a clockmaker to get it repaired and gave it to me as a birthday present.

Now I'm really wondering what type of watch this is. The clockmaker said the caliber is 2937-2, but when I google those omega watches, I can't find anything that matches the one I have. I'm not a watch enthusiast, so I'm not really sure how this works anyways.

It doesn't say "omega" on the dial, like a lot of other watches with that caliber does. Could it be fake?

Also, I'm thinking of trying to get a clockmaker to clean the dial a bit, as it has some dirt/spots on it. Is this a smart idea? Is there a possibility of ruining the dial forever?

    Hi @combatfrog and welcome here.

The reason you cannot find any exactly similar is that the dial on yours has been attempted cleaned at some point, losing all the dial text in the process. You could definitely go with a redialer or try sourcing a spare dial on eBay or similar place.
