·Hi,
My first thread in this forum. 😀
I have a Seamaster 14759 which had a cracked crystal so wanted to replace it. I have some experience of doing smaller things like this but I ran into a strange thing hence my question to the more knowledgeable here 😀
I looked up multiple sources and all of them pointed out 5140 is the correct reference crystal for this case.
This has a diameter of 29.6mm. I found a generic crystal at Cousins that should match however I'm unable to press the crystal in to the case as the case has a smaller diameter. How is that possible? Yes, I made a rookie mistake by not double checking the case itself prior ordering but I was so convinced it should fit as all sources indicated it is the right one. Worth noting the replacement came with tension ring.
Thank you in advance
