Misaligned 6 o'clock index on Seamaster 14770

I got this watch for less than $200 because a previous owner broke the crystal with the tension ring left in place (the most stressful thing I have ever done on a watch is scrape out the old crystal to break the tension ring loose, never again). I noticed the index at 6 is not aligned with the crosshairs on the dial. It runs and actually keeps time fairly well, curious if it's worth spending the money on a new crystal and service. Hard to tell the value of these, I see a lot of them on ebay around 4-500 but I don't know if they are actually selling for that much. Not looking to make money on it, but wouldn't spend more than it is worth if I can find another in better condition.

Yes, on all but 12, 3, 6, 9, or at least there was, most of it is gone. If I get it serviced I would ask about having the lume redone on the dial but I am not sure it should be done on this, I love the dial other than the 6 index being off a couple degrees toward 5 but I can get over that.

Be careful with the lume as it is radioactive. The beta radiation that tritium emits is not too bad if its stays on your outside, but make sure you wash your hands carefully before eating!

I had a connie that had an index marker that had been knocked at some point and it dropped off the dial. Careful if you wiggle it back and forth.

Index doesn't look off center to me - it looks like part of it broke off. Shouldn't it match the 12 and 9 marker?

Just a reflection off the facet.

After reading your replies I think maybe I am the one that is misaligned. Now when I look it looks like 9 is off.

Looks like a nice watch, worth a bit of investment. Looks like the minute hand is missing lume which would bother me more than the missing lume on the markers.

Thanks! If I got it serviced I would definitely ask for the hands to be re-lumed. There is a vintage watch place nearby that manages to get a good hue so it doesn't clash too much. I tend to ask them not to touch anything with the dial. Any idea the value on this? the $4-500 I see on ebay a reasonable comp? I can't imagine the German jeweler name does anything but hurt the value.

For me I wouldn't like a relume so I would sell it as is.
You will get more than $200 for it and you can put that towards a nicer example.

Is it down to the angle as well? The misalignment on the 10 (as in the date, not the index) bothers me slightly more than the index.

Now that you have posted a better picture, I think all the markers are fine.

Probably just starting the change cycle.

Yeah, I took the hands off when I took the old crystal and tension ring off and didn't bother re-aligning everything since it is going to get serviced.

It definitely hasn't been serviced in a long time, the crystal that was on it was well worn and it was not the right type of crystal, it was just held in by the bezel and you cant' get the movement out without removing the tension ring. The broken crystal had been filed down so the incorrect one would fit. Surprisingly there was no damage to the bezel or the dial.
