This is awesome.

The polarization of the crowd strikes me as probably being exactly what Rolex wanted. Gets people talking, they know some will hate, and some will love, and possibly bring in some new customers for those who like the new offerings vs. just having the same old OP's.

I don't give a Tinker's Cuss what my disc models are "worth." I didn't buy them with the intent to sell, and I have unmitigated scorn for those who do so. They are not "investments."

The OP41 while I don’t necessarily like it is a good move. It’s an entry level Rolex, well priced and with the bright colour way may well encourage new and younger customers.

they know full well that once they are hooked, they’ll likely upgrade at some point too.

I have to say Im a bit disappointed with the New Subs although the 124060 has its place but I love the new 41 Perpetual sunburst dial version .

Nothing of interest for me this year.

Seems odd that the iconic sub got plain black boring dials.

The OP upsized is a very strange move. 39 was perfect in my opinion. The colours are whacky, remind me of the Daytona beach watches I think?

The only one I like is the one posted immediately above. However the double markers are just a tad odd.

Similar reactions were there for the Airking when it was introduced this time. Now it's supposed to be a collector's favourite watch!!

No one I know gives a rats ass about the OP line.

Thanks for the thoughtful contribution.

Next year will be a good one with the explorer 2 getting a facelift. Hopefully they don’t ruin it!

I never expect to own an Explorer 2, but I want them to be bold with it: matte black ceramic bezel. I just don't expect that to happen.

That change would make it their most interesting tool or sport watch, IMO.

I don't agree with you at all. A LOT of people do. No date, clean dial, and now the same size as an Aqua Terra. Not too expensive.... And they sell well.

If no one cared about it I doubt the most significant additions in decades would all be on that line.

Did you notice that Rolex "accidentally" threw out colorful dials after suing LaCalifornienne. It is possible that they liked the design and colors on their dials so they sued them so that there would be no confusion afterwards.

Why have they never sued Bamford for the crime they are committing?

Well the Seamaster 300MC doesn't have any of those "issues" 😉
But that one has faux patina 🙁

Haha

I think that one can be a very nice all around watch. It would be nice if they made a smaller version too.
