Why are people obsessed with being the first. “I was the first ti predict slimmed down lugs”... wtf dude? Who gives a shit? I also saw some guy on Instagram claiming to be the first who spotted some celebrity wearing a certain Rolex model.

All the cable and internet 'news' outlets always try to be the first with breaking news, it gives them bragging rights that they got the scoop first. Unfortunately this rush to be first results in a lot stories that have to be retracted or 'explained'. In the old days of network news and daily newspapers there was time for the editors to reflect on the news and its sources, now they just blast it out and hope for the best.
